ABOUT THE SICK. Will Parent still continues to improve and is now able to sit up at. short intervals. He is feeling quite well considering the seriousness of his mishap, and his recovery is assured. The nurse who has been caring for him, has been dismissed and all that Is necessary for his recovery, is time to regain his strength. Ed David, the young man who was injured on Thursday, when he was struck by a falling Iron rack, is better, but still unable to leave his bed. It is believed that nothing serious will follow and his recovery will be a rapid one. Mrs. Fred Handler suffered a painful injury Friday, while using a sewing machine at her home over the Moser store, when the needle of the machine penetrated entirely through her thumb. She was alone at the time of the accident and was unable to liberate herself from the rapidly moving machine, which held her in its grasp, but her cries brought assistance, and the finger was later set free. The needle had broken off, and it was fear ed a part had remained in the thumb. This, however, was not the case, and the broken part was found later cn the floor. The foot of the sewing part of the machine had dropped on the thumb, which was partially mashed by the rapidly moving cylinder, that pressed from above, and added to the pain inflicted by the penetration of the needle. — o FIX DATE FOR CONVENTION.
