Os course, they realize this is a difficult job, one they really can’t hope to accomplish, but the bluff makes doubly sure the de feat of Taft. it’s time to get your lists ready for the "Old Home Week.” For some reason or other the people of this community do not seem to be interested in the event, which it is proposed to make the best ever, and it looks as though they expect to load the work on a few. However, they should at least be willing to furnish the names and addresses ol those whom they know and who should he invited. Send them to W. P. Schrock, secretary. The sad death of Will Hale has caused heartaches Jor tn? iy who had confidence in him and who are disappointed now that the report has tie n made. He had the fre; and uncheck ed use of the hank funds, and when the expenses came he met them anti covered up until the time came when ft was impossible. Even then he could have met the obligations had he confided in his friends, bitt apparently he was tired of the struggle and preferred death. Shall »e not, however, remember his good traits, rather than his faults. He erred and has paid the debt. He was kind-hearted, clean of habits, -ood to his children, respectful to his parents, a leader in everything public-spirited. The mantle of charity should enfold his memory. The young man who has a place of trust should profit by the affair. They also propose to nominate a candidate for congress in each district and to put up local tickets. On August 6 the Taft party will meet to select a state ticket and choose presidential electors. When both conventions have finished their work what will the rank and file of the party do? There will be two republican organizations, each working against the ota er. The party will be divided into two hostile camps. In view of a condition of this kind every thinking republican must realize that the only

way to save the party is To aid in putting it -out of power for .the time. It is the only way that the warring elements can ever be brought together on common ground and in harmony.
