A surgical operation has just been found necessary to recover a lot of teaspoons which disappeared one at a time from a ward of the Eastern Maine insane asylum at Bangor. When the mystery was solved by the discovery that one of the patients was swallowing the missing articles, Drs. W. C. Mason and E. B. Sanger recovered from the man's stomach nineteen teaspoons. Seventeen of them belonged to the hospital and two had presumably been swallowed before the man was committed.

Coppock is connected with the automobile , factory that was recently moved to that city from this place. , The hypnotist, who last evening placed the lady in a sleep in the Bos ton store window at 4 o'clock, and awakening her upon the stage of the opera house at 8, drew a largo crowd, both at the window, where his first work was displayed, and then at the theater where she awoke. This afternoon he intends to place a man, hypnotized, working a pillow, in the same window, and show how the work can be accomplished as well as under natural conditions.
