Oliver of Monroe has returned home after a short stay here yesterday on business Mrs. Ted Ramsey is here from Fort Wayne to visit with her mother, Mrs Frank Shoemaker. Miss Tena Rademacker has returned from Toledo, Ohio, where she spent a week with her sister, Mrs. Philip Ardener Mrs. Dayton Barkley returned this morning to Hoagland. Mrs. Mary Crawford, reeiding west of Geneva, was brought to the hospital Wednesday afternoon. Thursday morning she was operated upon for tumor of the breast. She rallied from the operation and is getting along as well as could be expected.—Portland Sun.

James Watts. French Quinn joined the party of Decaturites at Muncie this morning for the T. P. A. Convention held there yesterday and today. Mrs Dr Campbell c f Orville, Ohio, who has been the guest of her brother, Dr. W. W. P McMillen, went to Fort Wayne this morning. Mrs. Fred Deininger left today for Grand Rapids, Mich., where she will join her husband in making that city their home. Mr. Deininger is employed in the automobile plant that was moved from this city. Thelma Harrison, accompanied by the children of William Miller of Berne, in whose charge they are, passed through the city this morning enroute to Pleasant Mills, where they will spend Sunday with her parents. G. S. Blank and wife, who, as was stated a few weeks ago, agreed to disagree, have again come to the conclusion that it is cheaper to settle affairs themselves than to let the courts do so, so they joined hands again. Jeanette, wife and daughter of the editor of the Herald, arrived Friday afternoon from Huntington. Th6 Stults family will m- ke this city their home, and have leased furnished rooms in the Bowers building on East Monroe street until the new house being erected by W J. Myers on Jackson street is completed, Mr. Stults having leased same. This office is in receipt of a year book of the North Indiana annual conference of the Methodist Episcopal church, containing the minutes of the sixty-ninth sescion, held at Wabash, March 27-April 1. A portion of the book is also devoted to obituaries of pastors deceased during the year, and this edition contains that of the Rev. C. W. Church and Rev. C. G. Hudson, with pictures of both.

Attorney F. M. Armantrout of Geneva. who was here this morning on business, left at noon for his home. Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Musselman of Berne, who spent a. short time here this morning, left at noon for their home. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Kauffman and daughter, Katharine Adeline, have gone to Rodkey to spend Sunday with his parents. Mrs. Nina Neuenschwander has returned lo her home at Berne after being here for a visit with her daughter, Mrs. Reuben Lord. Mr and Mrs Henry Gentis have gone to Linn Grove to visit over Sunday and attend the new Evangelical church dedication. Mrs. Mary Christen went to Monmouth today to vis\ with relatives. This is her first trip down town in three months as she has been ill the greater part of the winter with muscular rheumatism. Fred Vaughn arrived from Evanston, 111., today to join his wife in a visit over Sunday with her mother, Mrs. Mary Chris' -n. Mrs. Vaughn was called here some time ago by her mother’s illness. Mrs. L. L. Baumgartner and daughter, Bess, left for Linn Grove today to visit with relatives and to attend th» dedication of the new Evangelical church tomorrow. They will be joined tomorrow by Mr. Baumgartner. J. W. Bosse, deraocratio chairman of Adams county, wac a visitor in Ft. Wayne Thursday and in conference with District Chairman E. G.
