Shafer Peterson, appointed commissioner by court, was today receiving bids for the propertiea ordered sold in • the partition suit brought in the estate of the late Mel Rice. The sale i was held privately and bids were received up until 3 o'clock this afternoon. A day without bids will follow and the sale will not be declared until 3 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. The properties for sale are the two store buildings on Vv'est Monroe street occupied by the Brushwiller & Baker grocery and the Wilder & Simmers meat market, together with the adjoining residence occupied by Henry Kcenemann This w ill be sold as one. Mrs Koenig was one of the best know n I ladies in the city, having resided here] for a number of years, and her death I is grieved by many. Interment was |' made at the Catholic cemetery. I .
