THE BIG BANQUET Arrangements Complete for Jefferson Day Banquet at Indianapolis. —— MR. BRYAN TO SPEAK A.lso Kern, Shively, Marshall, Korbly and Others —The Arrangements. Indianapolis, Ind. April I (Sepcial Ito Daily De’cocrat) —William Jen--1 nings Bryarr will take the tietnoen u of the nation into his confidence at the Jefferson day banvjuti to be hp;c > here April 12, and will reveal hi<- po sition on the question as to who should be the national standard bear er this fall. This announcement was made todaj by Fled B. Johnson, Os the ln<iian:< Democratic club, who is in receipt ot a letter from the Commoner, expressing his pleasure in being a guest of the club on the day before the ban qnet and his willingness to make the speech of the evening. With the announcement that Bryan will state his | position frankly, the event this yea: j assumes national importance. Leading democrats of the capital are discussing the position of the Commoner with the utmost interest, inasmuch as Governor Marshall and Mr. Bryan will meet for the first time since the Indiana democracy indorsed the governor for the presidency. According to the Jefferson day plans, which were completed today, the governor and Mr Bryan will meet at the reception given by the Indiana Democratic club on the afternoon of April 12th, at the club home. 22 East Vermont street. Prominent party workers from all over the state have been invited to attend this reception. ♦,'hich will be of an informal nature Both the governor and Mr. Bryan will bo at the club house all afternoon and as the whole •'ffair is to be given f a decided Marshall tinge, it is pointed ' out that a declaration of Bryan fo l ' Marshall at the banquet is the only possible sequel. r ( Following the tAernoon reception, the democratic hosts will assemble at e the Hume-Mansur Garden promptly at r 6:30 p. m., and the feast will begin at once. Requests for seats have been pouring in from all over the stale. The number of guests have been limite ed to 1,000 and every mail is depleting the supply on hand. The price of $2.50 per plate has not deterred hundreds of the rank and file of the party from expressing their determins ation to attend. The privilege of “ hearing such a distinguished list of ! orators is held to be worth more than the price of the banquet, is the way in which many of the letters state the _ situation. o NOTICE. o Now is the time to tile your mortgage exemptions.
