Helen Pence, daughter of Albert ■ and Josie Pence, was horn near Lau- ( rel, Ohio, December 2, 1891. and left | this world for a better one February 13, 1912, aged 21 years, 2 months and , 11 days. She died at Newton, Ohio, I after an illness of six months. Helen , (w’as a Christian, having become a I member of the M. E. churctf at Lau- : rel, and was converted in a series of : meetings held by Rev. Joseph Shep- ■ herd She was loved by all who knew her. The night before she died she ! said to her mother: “Mother, my | i Savior has come for me and I must 1 go. Yes, I want to go. for it is such a • beautiful place where I am going.” - And she said: ''Mamma, do not cry. , for it will not be long until I will see , you again.” She then had the family i all called to her bed. and while her f“a- ■ ther, mother, sister, brothers and un- , cle were all around her, she asked ■ 'them all to kiss her.
