Andrews of Decatur, was operated upon at Hope hospital yesterday for relief from a complication of ailments and her condition is very serious. Andrews returned today noon [ from Fort Wayne, where he had been at the bedside of his wife who was operated upon Thursday morning at the Hope hospital. Her condition is I very low. but those attending stated 'that should no complications arise, | there is a hope for her recovery The ' was greater than auticipat ( cd and physicians stated that it was one of the most severe ever performed ' there. 1 ■ A message was received this morn[ing by the B. J. Terveer family, from iToledo, stating that their daughter, Mrs. Clem Uhl, who had been bedfast for some weeks, was doing as well as [could be expected under the circumstances. On last Saturday morning, following a consultation of several of Toledo's specialists, it was necessary | that a delicate operation be performed I in order to save the life of the moth-1 er. Owing to her greatly weakened | condition she was quite serious for I some days, while now more hope is [ 'extended for her recovery. She is [still under the care of two physicians and a trained nurse, while her sister, Miss Mayme Terveer, who has been at.her bedside for several weeks, is still with her. Ind., Mai'. 22—(Special , to Daily Democrat) —Delegates to the I republican state convention here selected four delegates at large, national convention delegates being selected today in more than one-half of Indiana counties. The remainder of the counties name delegates tomorrow. Charles Campbell, campaign manager for Roosevelt, issued a statement today that Roosevelt would carry the First, Second, Fourt, Sixth, Eighth, Tenth, Twelfth and Thirteenth congressional districts.
