Mrs. Baughman and daughter spent the night here as guests of Mr. and Mrs. O. L. Vance, while enVoute home. The Saturday afternoon dish pan sale of the Morris store was a hummer. The pans were lined up on the floor the entire length of the store, which was filled from front to back — with some running over onto the walk —with people, who promptly at 2 o’clock made a grab for a pan. So full was the store, that the clerks were obliged to stand on the wrapping tables to do the wrapping. Extra clerks were Edna Steele, Mr. and Mrs. I Clarence Baughman, Frances Coffee. CONTRACTS LET| For Electric Light Posts, Stone Roads, Sewer, Etc., by Commissioners. THE MARCH SESSION Michael Miller Named Supt. of Constructon for New Bridge. The March session of the county commissioners began this morning ■ with all members present and several | important matters were disposed of. The reports of the county treasurer, auditor, recorder, infirmary superintendent, were appoved. The Mertz Macadam road was order- ■ ed, Fred Koldeway and Chris Marbaeh being appointed viewers and C. C. Ernst engineer. The Yellow Creek road was also ordered, the viewers named being Norman Jacobs and John Eicher, and Mr. Ernst the engineer. The viewers are to meet at the auditor’s office March 11th on Yellow creek. The work of constructing Monroe street bridge in this city, according to the plans and specifications will be under Michael Miller, who was today appointed superintendent of construe t.ion. Walter Thornhill, trustee of Wabash township, filed a report as to aid he had rendered to two poor persons of his township. Report was approved. W. J. Myers was the only bidder for the construction of the sewer at the county infirmary, his bid being $219 and the contract was duly awarded. The ornamental electric light posts, about the court house and jail, will be furnished by the Western Construction company, whose bid for twelve posts was $754.60. Clay & Engle secured the contract for building the R. L. Shirk macadam road, their bid being $2,500. The onlv other bidders were Merryman & Fugate, who bid $2,750, John Erhart was appointed superintendent of construction on the Hart macadam road in Union township, which has been ordered built, FIRST IN THIRTY-FIVE YEARS. The first meeting between three brothers in thirty-five years occurred but recently when Dan Railing, jr., of Chicago, 111., and William Railing of Convoy. Ohio, met at the home of the other half-brother. John Railing, of Union township lhe other day. The brothers were summoned here to attend the funeral of another relative. John Kurt, and later made the visit with each other. Obviously the visit was much enjoyed by the men, owing to the long separation.
