YOUR WINTER DUDS —— Will be Needed This Month According to Forecast of Professor Hicks. g LOW TEMPERATURE Is Predicted and Many Cold Snaps Will Prevail During Present Month. Get out earmuffs and storm doors, for real winter is at hand. Parson Hicks, the St. Louis weather prophet, who sometimes hits it and other times does not, says December is to be fierce, an I that’s all there is to it. The last month of the year, according to Hicks will bring many changes. Genera, winter weather can be expected early in the month with snow, sleet and a blizzard. About the middle of ' i the month warmer weather with win- ; ter thunder and lightning and rain j will appear to the south, followed by , a regular old-fashioned winter with . snow and sleet. A regular storm period covers the 2nd to the 7th, having its center on the 4th. From about Sunday, the 3rd, to Thursday, the 7th, look for general winter storms. Rain will turn to heavy sleet and snow and fierce gales and blizzards will sw’eep most parts of | sea and land. Seismic shakes will be reported between the 2nd and Sth. A ! great cold wave will rush from the I northwest, spreading south and east! from the sth to the 10th. A reaction ! ary storm period is central at the! magnetic and electic crisis of winter j solstice, on the 11th, 12th and 13th. Look at this time for a spell of continued threatening, stormy weather, and the storms inland will be bitter and prolonged. A regular storm period is central on the 15th, extending from the 13th to the 17th. Low barometer, sudden change to warmer, with possible lightning and thunder and rain, will appear to southward about the 13th, and on the 14th, 15th, 16th and 17th gen- , eral winter solstice storms will be natural over sea and land, covering most parts of northern hemisphere. High barometer sweeping gales and great cold will bring up the rear of ; storm areas.
A reactionary storm period will bring change to warmer, with renewed rain and snow, on touching the 20th, 21st and 22nd. The disturbance at this time will center about the new moon on the 20th. The period will add to the accumulations of snow and ice, resulting from previous solstice storms and winter’s cold will tighten its grip with high barometer following the storm. A regular storm period covers the last week of the year, being central on the 27th. Storms will bring rain and probable lightning and thunder on and touching the 28th, but snow . and sleet will fellow. High barometer, northwest gales and cold, fair weather will prevail in most parts of the country as we pass into 1912. PUBLIC SALE. L. J. Bumgarner, railroad agent at Cheshire, Ohio, writes the Leah Medicine company, under date of November 4th: “I cannot express my appreciation of your kindness in sending jme your 49 General Tonic.
