Mr. and Mrs. william France and daughter, Miss Lillian, of Chicago, are in the city for a visit with Mr. and Mrs. John Hessler, on Rural Route No. 2, and other friends and relatives in the city.

Miss Bertha Hannibald of Cleveland. The Misses Hulda Mutschler and Lydia Kirsch, who have been spend ing a week with friends at Cleveland, i Ohio, have returned home. Nathan Ehrman of Kirkland township has returned to his home after being in the city attending to some business affairs during the day. Mrs. E. W. Johnson* and daughter returned to their home at Monroe after a several days' visit here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chris Weldy. A letter received by friends from Rev. Hessert, who is now at Winona, states that he is enjoying,a trip of much and will remain there for a week or so longer.

There will be services this evening at half past seven o’clock at the .Methodist Episcopal church, preparatory to the quarterly meeting and holy communion next Sunday. The pastor. Rev. R. L. Semans. will preach tonight upon the theme. "The Upper Room." While the trip going J seemed to Injure rather than improve L Miss Gertrude, it will be glad news ( to her many friends and admirers t<. learn that the homeward trip helped , I her greatly and she is feeling better I just now than for some time.
