Mr. and Mrs. Sol Frank returned to Nine Mlle after attending to business here. Mrs. Malinda Fronetield returned to her home in Fort Wayne this morning after a visit here with friends. Mrs. M. A. Vail, who has been quite sick at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Daniel Spiaug, remains about the same. George Brown, from south of the city, was here this morning looking after some business affairs, which required bis attention for a short while.

Miss Irene McClure, residing northwest of the city, went to Fort Wayne this morning, where she will be em- 1 ployed. Charles Hendricks is home from I Chicago, where he was for several weeks, taking his vacation. During his absence his duties at the Martin restaurant were looked after by Alva i Aurand of Decatur Route No. 2. Miss Caroline Dowling left this morning for an extended visit with friends in Kentland, Morocco. Logansport, Royal Center and other Indiana towns, and may also visit in parts of Illinois before her return, which will not be until August 28th, in time to attend the teachers’ institute. Mies Dowling being one of the county’s teachers.
Norbert Holthouse was a Ft. Wayne visitor today. Mrs. Anna Sheline was a visitor at Geneva today. F. E. France of Muskogee, Okla., is here on business. John laichot was a business caller at Berne this morning. Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Graharfi returned last evening from Winona. Mrs. C. L. Mr. and Mrs. Simeon Bowers and children of Kirkland township were business visitors here yesterday. Tyndall has returned from a business trip to Goshen and Bluffton, 1 where his presence was needed for several days. Mrs. E. 3. Christen of Root township will leave tomorrow morning for Sullivan and Terre Haute, where she will visit with relatives.

Sheriff Reichelderfer stated yesterday that Jesse McCollum, the horse thief, will be turned over to some one of half a dozen sheriffs from nearby counties who are clamoring for him, the first of the week.
