J. Mayer family at Monroe over Sunday. Kenyon Walters was at Monroe Saturday disposing of his Saturday evening Posts. Isadore Kalver left Saturday for Chicago, where he will attend to business for a few days. Mont Fee left on his regular trip today, he having been in the city over Sunday with his family. Dan Baumgartner has returned from his home at Linn Grove, where he spent Sunday with his mother. Velma Daniels, who spent Sunday in the city, returned this morning to Geneva to resume her school work. Will Berllng has returned to his place of business after being in the city over Sunday the guest of friends. Miss Bessie May went to Hoagland Saturday afternoon to spend Sunday with her sister, Mrs. Dayton Barkley. Frank and Joe Myers of Middlebury, Ohio, called in the city Saturday and were guests of John Kiracofe. Miss Frances Gaffer, who has been sick all week with tonsilitis, Is better and was able to be up again Saturday. Bud Brokaw returned to his work at Fort Wayne this morning after spending Sunday here with his family. Stella Thomas, who took her regular musical instruction here this morning, returned to her home at noon. Frank Kern, the Metropolitan insurance superintendent of Fort Wayne, was a business visitor here Saturday Paul Hoffman of Lima, a former Decatur boy, arrived in the city Saturday and will again make this place his home. Mrs. Florence DeVilbiss and daughter, Fannie Cole, are at home after a four days’ visit with friends at Indianapolis. Mrs. L. G. Ellingham and children arrived today for a week’s visit with J. H. Heller and family and other Decatur friends. John Stalder will go to Fort Wayne this evening to hear Madame Schu-mann-Heink in her concert at the Majestic theater. Miss Bess Schaffner of Willshire has returned to her home after a short visit here with her sister, Mrs. Fred Hencher. Mrs. George Gay of east of the city was in town Saturday, having just recovered from a siege of what was nearly like lumbago. Mrs. Herbert Majors and children of Frankfort transferred here this morning on their way to Monroe for a visit with relatives. Leo Yager, who was the guest of his sister and brothers over Sunday, has left on his regular trip to be absent for the next two weeks. Miss Stella Wemhoff of Ft. Wayne, who spent Sunday here with her mother, Mrs. Mary Wemhoff, returned this morning to resume her work. Clem Heidemann was at Geneva today looking after business pertaining to the new mitten factory, which will be opened there in a very short time. Misses Bessie Stuckey and Dora Winteregg of Berne are in the city to over Sunday with Miss Mary Jones, East Arch street.—Portland Sun. Dr w Finch was in the city today and at the Murray hotel, giving treatment to his many patients which call on him monthly during his day’s stop here. The Misses Agnes Eady, Ada Stevens, Dessie Mann and Mrs. George Wertzberger were extra clerks at the Baughman five and ten cent store Saturday. J. R. Graber of French township, ex-superintendent of the Adams county infirmary, was in the city Saturday on business, greeting his many Decatur friends. C. K. Bell of Akron, Ohio, stopped off here for an over-Sunday visit with his parents, enroute home from Chicago, where he has been on business for his company. Mrs. Elias Crist has returned home from Bluffton, where she spent the week in fisiting with her father, who was quite ill. He is reported as being much better. Miss Bertha Heller is improving slowly after a six weeks’ illness from the grip and its complications. She expects to resume her school work within a short time. County Commissioners Crist Eicher of Berne, Jim Hendricks of Monroe and William Zwick of Williams were in the city today, this being their regular meeting. Mr. and Mrs. E. D. Jones are moving their household effects to Fort Wayne, where they will make their home, Mr. and Mrs. Jones leaving Saturday afternoon. Mr. Jones has served for some time as operator for the Clover Leaf railroad in this city.
