Well proportioned monuments, embellished with symbolic and floral carvings, combined with artistic lettering, attract the attention of the passerby to the spr ng display of the Wemhoff Monumental Works. There should be no more beautiful spot than our cemeteries and the purchasers of monuments are taking more interest than formerly in the selection of designs and material. Among the memorials on display at Wemhoffs is a well-proportioned stone of classical design to be erected at the grave of Augustus C. Gregory in the Decatur cemetery- This designs, made to the special order of his widow, consists of a large, polish.ed keystone set in an axed base. On the front, carved in alto relief, is the carved double .eagle symbol of the Masonic order, a fine piece of carving, done by one of America’s noted sculptors. ‘ Another handsome, rockcarved me- , morial, adorned with floral carvings, having the family name raised in a neat oval panel, is to mark the last j resting place of the late ’Squire J. H. The Presbyterian Ladies' society was entertained Thursday afternoon by Mrs. S. N. Dorwin at the C. A. Dugan home, the business and social periods alternating.
