In spite of the measles epidemic that rages in many families of the church, there was a large attendance at the meeting of the Baptist Ladies' Aid society at the home of Mrs. S E. Shamp Thursday afternoon. After the business meeting, a very good little program was given by the children. there being a piano solo by Pauline Hite and recitations by Mary VanHart, Helen Crumley and Heater Betx. Plans for the organteation of a junior aid society, comprising several of the young girls, were also discussed. Refreshments in two courses were served by the hostess. Mrs. Emm Daniels, vice president, presided, and a very interesting program was given under the leadership of Mrs. Fred Mills. Porto Rico being discussed. Delicious refreshment* made their appearance during the social period. A pleasant gnd profitable meeting of the Presbyterian Ladies Aid society was that held at the home of Mrs. M. A. Frisinger Thursday afternoon. The attendance was very good and x pleasant social hour, in addition to the business meeting, was spent, daring which refreshments were provided Among the things planned was the giving of a dinner in the cfctireh parlors Thursday. This dinner, which includes the following menu, will be served for a quarter and everybody is invited: Chicken With Noodles Gravy Mashed Potatoes Escalioped Corn Cold Slaw Pickles Bread Butter Jellies Fruit Salad Pie Coffee The operas of Reginald DeKoven were stuCed by the Eu terpenes at the home of Mrs. J. W. Tyndall instead of with Mrs. Harry Starr on account of the illness of the latter, the program being outlined by Miss Bess Sehroci and Mrs. Fred Fruchte. The fact that one of DeKoven's operas, ■ The Beauty Spot." will be produced in Fort Wayne next Saturday, and that many of the elub are planning to attend, added interest to the study. Just two hundred and seven enjoyed the hospitality of the Fred Hoffman home Thursday evening at one of the most delightful socials ever given by the Evangelical ladies' Aid society. The Hoffman home was ablate with light, happiness and good cheer and a very fine order of entertainment was provided. Very j tempting refreshments were provided during the course of the evening. The Orient dub passed Thursday afternoon in a pleasant way with their embroidery work at the home of Mrs. H. S. Lacaot. Besides sewing there was a unique “dry goods" contest, names of materials for dress appropriate to the wives of men of various occupations being suggested Mrs D. B. Erwin won the prize in this. A delidcas luncheon was one of the entertainment features. Guests were Mrs. J. F. Lachot and daughter. Miss Lilah. Mrs. John Stewart will be hostess at the next meeting, next Thursday afternoon. The Evangelical Young People's Alliance wffl hold their regular monthly business and social meeting next Tuesday evening with Mrs. Eugene Runyon. The Yeomen are preparing to initiate t class of twelve or more on next Monday evening and will combine a pleasant social time with the initiatory work. The United Brethren Aid society held an enthusiastic meeting with Mrs. Thc-tnas Fisher Thursday afternoon. the hostess haring charge of the devotional service.
