LORIMER WINS LONG CONTEST. (United Press Service.) Washington, D. C., March I—(Speciall—(Special to Daily Democrat) —The resolution to declare Senator Lorimer illegally elected to the senate lost on a vote today, 46 to 44. and Lorimer therefore wins the long contest. Five senators did not vote. Two would have voted each way and Lorimer himself did not vote. The vote was on the resolution introduced by Beveridge. Both Beveridge and Shively voted against Lorimer. o— — Paul Harrod of Fort Wayne was in the city today attending to some business matters. Mrs. Don Quinn and daughter. Louise. will return to Chicago tomorrow after a visit here with her parents, Judge and Mrs. J. T. Merryman. Mrs. Sylvester Spangler, Mrs. Jas. Rice, Mrs. M. Kirsch, Miss Eliza Spangler and A. H. Selemeyer went to Poe this morning to attend the funeral of a relative. Mrs. Lillie Sergent Wilhelm, wife of John Wilhelm, of that place, which was held this afternoon at 1:30 o’clock from the M. E. church at Poe, the Rev. Johnson officiating. Her death occurred there Monday at the age of forty-two years after an extended illness from tuberculosis. She was born in Cleveland. July 7, 1869, and came with her parents to Allen county in 1871. For the past ten years she has been an active worker in the M. E. church at Poe.

County Clerk Haefling has completed his report of the quarter from December 1, 1910, to February 28, 1911, showing a total of fees collected. $734.04. A petition for an election on the option question has been filed for Hartford township. It contains 106 names or almost half the vote of the township. It is probable, however, that if the amendment to the law is passed, making “dry" territory “dry’' until voted “wet," this petition and that of Root township will be withdrawn. — o ATTENDING THE LEGISLATURE Prosecuting Attorney R. C. Parrish was called to Indianapolis, late last evening, by a telephone call. An important bill is before the assembly which if passed will materially increase the salary of the prosecutor and of course Pat is very much interested. K. OF P. MEETING. The Knights of Pythias will hold a session Thursday evening at which time a number of candidates will be given the first rank of the order. The lodge is also thinkiing of forming a new constitution, which will be taken up later. A good attendance is desired.

Dr. Keller is making quite extensive improvements in his already up-to-date office and when completed it will be one of the finest in the city. At present he is making a number of improvements m tne rear of his office, fixing it up so as to allow him more room tor his increasing practice. An arch-way, which has been put in temporarily, will be taken out, and the room arranged into more of a drug room, where he will add a new drug cabinet, and other supplies. The Interior will all be repapered and painted and electric lights rearranged for better service throughout the entire office. He will also install several new electrical instruments in addition to the electric battery which he has at present. Those to be put in will be an oxyoline instrument, vibrating outfit, electro medicinal theraupelic, and other surgery supplies. With these improvements added to those which he already has in use he will be able to care for any disease that might come his way and to give the necessary treatment that can be secured of surgeons and specialists. It will require three or four weeks until this change will be completed, at which time you will be welcome to inspect the best equipped office of this kind in the city. OH—PUBLIC SALE.
