He had been in the city on business since last week. Wilder of the West Monroe street meat market, is very sick at his home in Monmouth, suffering from pneumonia. , Mrs. Elizabeth Wagner returned Saturady afternoon to Fort Wayne after attending the funeral of her brother M. Thomas J. Elzey who has been staying at the S. P. Sheets home for the winter is very seriously ill with pneumonia. Rev. Mills, and Family left this morning for Fort Wayne. Howard Wisehaupt returned to his school near Berne this morning after being in the city over Sunday for a visit with his parents. John Roehm who had been visiting at Willshire, Ohio, passed through the city Saturday afternoon on his way to his home at Fort Wayne. Henry Gallmeyer and family and Henry Klein and family of St. John’s visited yesterday with Mr. and Mrs. August Griesinger of West Walnut street. P. W, Smith of Richmond arrived in the city this morning and was looking after some business relative to his lumber plant, which he has in this city. Mrs. James Spade and children, who have been the guests of the former's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Weis, left today for tfieir home at Fort Wayne. E. X. Ehinger, J. S. Bowers, F. M. fechirmeyer, D. B. Erwin and others were at Fort Wayne today, they being interested in the Allison insolvency suit, which was brought up at that place today.

John Lachot left on his regular trip south this morning and will be absent 'from the city for several days. Miss Theresa Bogner of Fort Wayne spent Sunday here the guest of her father, John Bogner, and family. Miss Della Sellemeyer, who spent Sunday at Portland as the guest of friends, returned home this morning. Charles Ross left this morning on his regular trip south and will be absent from the city for several days. Mr. and Mrs. P. W. Smith of Richmond were in attendance at the funeral of M. F. Rice. They returned to their home Saturday afternoon Lilah Lachot left Saturday for Berne for a visit with Miss Jessie Simiaon and at Linn Grove with Miss Bessie Baumgartner for a week or so. Mrs. Jeff Bryson of Portland has returned to her home after being in attendance at the funeral of M. F. Rice, which was held Saturday. Powell left this morning for Greencastle, where hd will make arrangements for his new work in connection with the endowment fund for Depauw university. The Misses Agnes Melbers and Irene Garard went to Fort Wayne Saturday evening to attend the performance of “The Light Eternal," at the Majestic theatre. C. C. Myers, who has been visiting here since Thursday with his mother. Mrs. Elizabeth Myers, has returned to Tulsa. Oklahoma. Mrs. Myers will remain for a month's visit. Mrs. Nettie Fry of Indianapolis, who attended the funeral of her uncle, M. F. Rice, Saturday, went to Monmouth on the four o'clock car to visit with her daughter, Mrs. Al Fritzinger. Miss Faye Smith left today for Richmond and Indianapolis, where she has engagements as a reader. Miss Smith has been meeting with much success in her work and has been highly commended where she has appeared. Miss Bertha Bieberich of Preble underwent an operation for an affection of the appendix and gall bladder at the Lutheran hospital and is reported to be doing well. The operation was performed by Drs. Duemling and Grandstaff, the latter of Preble. —Fort Wayne Sentinel.
Joe Colihin, a plumber in the~etnployee of *the Pennsylvania railroad, with headquarters for the present at Rochester, Pa., spent Sunday here with his mother, Mrs. Julia Colchin. Miss Clara Bultemeier returned last evening from Fort Wayne, where she visited relatives for a few days. She returned to her work at the Peoples & Gerke shoe store this morning after a week’s vacation. Jesse Rupp of Berne changed cars here this morning on his way to Fort Wayne, where he represented the Bank of Berne in the insolvency suit of R. K. Allison, which was tried at Fort Wayne today. Mrs. Ben Pillars who went to Mansfield, Ohio, to be at the bedside of a sick sister, Mrs. Gale Leonard, who is suffering from asthma and pneumonia, writes her husband that Mrs. Leonard is slightly better. Miss Agnes Costello stenographer for the S. F. Bowser offices, Ft. Wayne arrived Saturday afternoon to spend Sunday here with her parents, Dr. and Mrs. H. F. Costello. Miss Agnes likes her new work very much. Miss Sallie Vesey of Thompson avenue left Friday for St. Paul, Minn., where she will remain some timd with her aunt. Miss Hariet Studabaker, of Decatur, who is spending the winter in that city. Miss Vesey will spend the week in Madison, Wis., with friends and continue her trip Monday. —Fort Wayne News.
