While some employed themselves with needlework, ethers talked er furnished music, after which came the luncheon, most tempting, the menu including veal loaf, sa»dwiches, pickles, cake, pineapple sherbet and coffee. Kuebier is confined to his ‘ 1 bed today, and not the least depiora- ( ble feature of the case is his disappointment in not being able to go to Shelby, Ohio, tomorrow, where, according to the annual custom of many > years, he has spent Thanksgiving Day with his mother. Mrs. Frances Kuebier, and his brother, Che Rev. J. F. ’ Kuebier. Three other brothers, Het- I man of Toledo, Ohio; Louis of Mans- i field, Ohio, and Joe of Tiffin, Ohio, J also expected to spend rhe day there t in reunion. Studabaker, who has been here for two weeks past, attending to business, was called to St. Paul, Minnesota, this afternoon, leaving on the 2:30 car for Fort Wayne, from where be will proceed to St. Paul at once. Fora a year past Dave has been working for the Wells-Fargo Express company, beginning as a truck man at the station. He was promoted several times during the year and finally transferred to the western coast. When called here on business two or three weeks ago he went to St. Paul and secured a three weeks' leave of absence. This morning he received a message from the the St. Paul office, Informing him that he had been promoted to the head of the money order department, a very responsible position. His friends have no doubt hut that he will make good. His sister, Miss Hattie Studabaker, will leave tomorrow for St. Paul and wflJ reside there also, at least for the present. o T. R. MOORE IS BETTER. Was Able to Sit Up For First Since Illness Wons from the T. R. Moore home is that Mr, Moore is much better and was able* to sit rip today for the first time since his attack of appendicitis a week ago last Monday and it is thought lite will new rapidly recover. Though thia is a cause of much Thanksgiving to hhn, the Thanksgiving this year will have to be done on a dfiet of toast and water instead or the usual turkey, as: his physician requires his dieting tear sormt time yet. o DR.
