The Ladies’ Aaid society of the Evangelical church held a pleasant and profitable meeting yesterday afternoon at the home of Mrs. G. S. Cress, in the south part of the city. After the business meeting the hostess served a delicious two course luncheon and the remainder of the afternoon was spent in a social way. Twenty members were present with a collection of $6.50. A farewell party was given for Angeline Schlickman last evening, the same being at the home of Letta Wetter. The guests were Caroline and Lulu, Gerber, Eva, Ruth and Naomi Mayer, Bertha Vogt, Eva Brokaw and Angeline Schlickman. Refreshments were served. The Helping Hand society held a busy session yesterday afternoon at the German Reformed Sunday school room, where they made seven com forts, two being special orders. Mrs. Fred Reppert as hostess, served a lunch. Vera Hunsicker, Ada Stevens, Lucy McCrory, Louise Teeple, Blanche McCrory, Hazel Beatty. Frances Gaffer, Annice and Hattie Wilder, formed a party that attended the box social at the Mallonee school in Root township. The Decatur party made the trip by Interurban from here to Monmouth, walking thence to the school.
