Mrs. Margaret Louthan of Fort Wayne was a visitor in the city with relatives for a few hours Saturday afternoon. Dr. Rainier went to Fort Wayne Saturday afternoon to join his in a visit with their daughter, Mrs W. F. Rosenwinkle. Miss Germaine Wehrle has returned to Fort Wayne after a three weeks’ visit with Charles Neffler and familywest of the city. Mrs. Fred Snyder left last evening for her home in Fort Wayne after a few days’ visit with Mrs. Pat Wi> helm, Mrs. Peter Gaffer and other friends. ThdRP. W. Smith force of men, who have been® busy for several days at Berne, left this morning to resume they *ork after an over-Sunday stay in the city. John Roehm, who had been working during the week at Willshire, Ohio, passed through the city on his way to his home at Fort Wayne, where he spent Sunday.

Joe Kortenbrer and Arthur Clous witnessed the airship contest at Fort Wayne Sunday. Miss Marti Kinta is Spending a few days at Willshire, Ohio, the guest of Miss Inez Snellon. Mr. and Mrs. J. Jones and babe are in the city from Muncie to be the guests of his father, John Jones. Wesley Shepherd of Anderson vissited over Sunday with his father-in-law, J. W. Edwards, and family. Mr. and Mrs. John D. Meyers returned home from Linn Grove, where they spent Sunday with friends. Mrs. Shafer Peterson and Mrs. E. W. Peterson went to Fort Wayne to spend Sunday with Mrs. Guy Majors. Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Reiter and son, Richard, spent Sunday in Fort Wayne the guests of Henry Reiter and family. Floyd and Celia Smith returned this morning to their work at Fort Wayne after a visit here with their relatives over Sunday. Miss Rose Ginley is numbered among the sick and is unable to be at her work at the Schlickman & Girod restaurant. Miss Helen Evans, who is teaching school near Berne, spent Sunday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Evans ,in Root township. Noah Lock is enjoying a vacation from duties and this morning left for Fort Wayne, where he will make a visit for several days. Miss Ella Bowser, who has been making a visit with her brother, Chauncey C. Bowser, left this morning for her home at Monroe. Forest Helm, who is attending college at Richmond, arrived home for an over-Sunday visit with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Helm. C. J. Lutz, Dan Sprang, A. R Bell and W. H. Fledderjohann left this morning on an automobile trip to James Lake, where they will fish. Mrs. Laura Batter and Mrs. Etta Bell of Middleburg. Ohio, changed cars here this morning on their way to Sturgis, Mich., where they will make their future home. F. V. Mills has returned from a week's visit with his mother, Mrs. Ophelia Mills, at Mt. Vernon, O. His brother from Chicago also visited there with him during that time. Mrs. Joe Lengerich and son Oscar, Mrs. Henry Lengerich and children, Bernice, Florence and Edward, left Saturday afternoon for Fort Woyne where they spent Sunday the guests of Mrs. Bernard Plock. Mrs. Adeline burkhoff went to Willshire, Ohio, today, where she will meet her fiance, Wilbert Reidenbach. and from there they will go to Chattanooga to visit with Mr. Reidenbach’s uncle, Joe Kuhn. Miss Katharine Kuhn of Celina. Ohio, who has been visiting with her sister, Mrs. Julia Colchin, the past week, left today for Chattanooga, where she will be the guest of another sister, Mrs. Agnes Eicher. Among those from this city who attended the aviation meet at Fort Wayne yesterday were Harrj- Jeffries. Charles Colter, Frank Chronister, Herschial Reynolds, J. S. Peterson and sons and T. M. Gallogiy and sons. Elijah Walters and brother-in-law, ' A. J. Teeple, left Saturday afternoon for Fort Wayne, where they will visit with the former’s daughter, Mrs. Albert Lochner. They will then go to Cedarville to visit with the latter’s sister, Mrs. Samuel Zimmerman. Why does a man invariably spit at something when he spits at ail? He will spit at something if it is nothing but a round hole in the cement sidewalk, and even though the sidewalk is seven or eight feet wide and the hole is away to the other side of the walk. Miss Grace Coffelt went to Middleport, Ohio, Saturday. She was called there by the serious illness of her friend. Mr. Elmer Spriedgen. Mr. Spriedgen took sick while at Jackson, Mich., and was taken home to Middleport, Ohio. He has visited here several times this summer the guest of Miss Coffelt. Albert Kenworthy of Howard county has arrived here to take possession of the Charles Lammiman farm near Monroe, which he recently bought. He is a good farmer, and located on one of the best in Adams county, and he will make things hum. He brings with him the best herd of mule-footed hogs ever brought here and they are almost a curiosity, having.feet like a mule.- Mr. Lammiman was busy this morning introducing Mr. Kenworthy to those of his friends whom he met. Mr. Lammiman will live in Monroe during the winter.

Father Benzinger of Heene Castle visited here with friends today. William Anderson of Linn Grove was a business visitor here today. James Artman left this morning on a business trtp to Fort Wayne and Bluffton. Floyd Smith returned to his work at Fort Wayne after spending Sunday here with his family. Mac McKinney has returned to his home at Wren after spending Sunday here with friends in this city. Attorney D. B. Erwin has recovered sufficiently from his attack of rheumatism to be at his office today. Mrs. Charles Lamlin of the south part of the city is in a very serious condition with an attack of typhoid fever. Mr. and Mrs. John Christen returned home this noon from a several weeks stay with her son Gus, at Louisville, Ky. Mrs. Mary Elzey returned this morning from Berne, where she visited over Sunday the guest of her daughter, Mrs. William Shackley. F. R. Merryman of Ft. Wayne made a short visit with his parents Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Merryman this morning on his way to Willshire to look after business matters. C. J. Weaver, Charles Patton, C. S. Meibers, P. G. Hooper, Mr. and Mrs. H. H. Bremerkamp and Will Archbold were among those who attended the anr-ship races at Fort Wayne yesterday.
