In the evening the party attended the play, "St. Elmo," given by the Guy Stock company. A Bluffton young lady, a friend of the members of the party, is playing with this company. Friends in this city have received announcement of the marriage of Miss Laura E. Reed to Frank A. Birchfield. which took place Wednesday. July 27th, at the home of the bride's mother in Columbus, Ohio. The bride for the past ten or twelve years has been instructor of Latin in the Angola normal school, while the groom is an instructor in the college at Winona Lake. Miss Mary Hayse of Howard City, Mich, and Miss Agnes Colchin are guests today at the Julius Heideman home south of the city, where threshing was in progress. The Misses Madge Hite and Ethei Barkley went to Fort Wayne yesterday afternoon, where they enjoyed a picnic supper at Robinson park. o . - - OFFICE MOVED THIS WEEK. The new office building and scales for the Bowers-Niblick Grain elevator, which are being built on the west side of the elevator on West Monroe strdet. are nearing completion and the office fixtures will be moved into the newoffice from the old place'near the gas office the latter part of this week. The excavation and the concrete work for the scales have been finished, and workmen were today placing the iron foundation and the scale mechanism. • - - O-g D. E.
