Mr. and Mrs. Emanuel Woods left today for Rome City, where they will spend several weeks at this famous summer resort. The Misses Esther Sprunger and Rose Reusser of Berne transferred here today enroute to Fort. Wayne to attend the show. Mrs. A. Holthouse of Jonesboro, Ark., and daughter, Sister Anthony, of Little Rock. Ark., who was formerly Miss Agnes Voglewede, will arrive Jliis evening for a visit with Mrs. R. J. Holthouse.

Misses Verna and Naomi Niblick went to Fort Wayne this morning to attend the show and visit with friends. Frank Coral of Anderson, the representative of the Anderson Buggy company, was a business caller in the city today. Mr. and Mrs. Marion Andrews and nephew, Harry Andrews, of south of the city, spent the day in Fort Wayne attending the show. Walter. Melvin, Clarence and Oren Hirsehy of Berne transferred here this morning on their way to Fort Wayne to attend the show. Mrs. D. E. Studabaker went to Fort Wayne today to meet her sister, Mrs. Harry Whitmer, of Goshen, who will come to spend the week here. The Misses Martha Heckman and Marie Boese went to Fort Wayne this morning, where they will visit with their aunt, remaining over Sunday. The members of the Phi Delta" Kappa lodge will give their weekly dance this evening at Maple Grove park and no doubt a large crowd will be in attendance. William Shanebarger and Miss Amelia Allmandlinger of Chattanooga., Ohio, transferred hrfe this morning on their way to Fort Wayne to attend the show. Mr. and Mrs. John Tyndall and son, Ralph, left this morning for Fort Wayne, where they attended the show of Barnum & Bailey, which exhibited there today.
Will Holmes of New York City, has been the guest of his sister, Mrs. J. D. Hale, and family, and left this afternoon for Portland, where he will visit further with relatives. Mrs. J. B. Rice and Master Kenneth Neptune left this morning for Fort Wayne, where they spent the day with friends, and while there attended the Barnum & Bailey show. Mr. Hyland and family having moved, into their new home, the Barthel property on Fourth street, which they recently purchased. Mrs. Harmon returned this morning to her home at t>t. Henry, Ohio, after a visit here with her son, John Harmon. and family. She was accompanied home by Mrs. John Harmon and chfldren, Catherine and Adrian, who will visit there. Mrs. G. B. Robinson and daughter, Iris, of Winchester, who have been visiting here with Mr. and Mrs. Dallas Hunsicker, left today for Fort Wayne, where they spent the day. They were accompanied there by Mrs. Hunsicker, who spent tne day there.

Bryce McMullen made a business trip to Pleasant Mills in the interest of the Niblick & Co. dry goods store. Miss Marie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Wertzberger, is visiting with her grandparents at Hammond John Falk left today for Detroit, Mich., where he will attend the Elk’s convention, which is in progress there this week. Mrs. Nelson Steele of Bluffton and Mrs. Amanda Bananda of Ossian ar rived in the city this noon for a visit with the former's sister, Mrs. Briner. Mrs. C. H. Gade and daughter, Irma, who have been visiting here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Kitson, left today noon for her home at Mott, N. Dak. She goes byway of Rochester, where she will stop off for a visit with relatives.
Jack Monahan, local superintendent of the Indiana Lighting company, is advertising today for twenty men whom he wants to report at the gas company’s office at 7 o'clock in the morning. The work he has in view is the excavation of the remainder of the ten-inch gas pipe running south from this city. There is little less than a mile of the pipe still to be removed from the ground.—Bluffton News. Judge R. K. Erwin, who arrived home Monday night from a business trip through Texas and the middle west, spent a short time at Haven, Kan., with a former Fort Wayne man, who gave up railroading for farming and has reaped a fortune from the soil. ' He is "Hank’’ Hilliard, who was. an engineer on the Pennsylvania railroad while here. He resigned his place thirty-four years ago and went to Kansas and bought a farm and recently retired, a rich man.—Fort. Wayne Journal-Gazette.

Walter Merryman of Bluffton, who has been visiting with relatives in the city for, several days, left today for his home. Mrs. Samuel Van Buskirk and children returned today noon to their home at Monroeville after a visit with relatives at Preble. They were accompanied by her sister, Mrs. Harmon Bieberich and daughter, Irma, who will visit there.
