Mrs. Lowe of Gibsonburg, Ohio, is visiting here witn her son, F. E. Smith, and family. Miss Grant returned this morning to Hillsdale. Mich., after a visit with Charles Sowle and family. Oswald WemhofT was attending to some business for the Wemhof! Monumental Works at Geneva today. Miss Oakle Harrod of Fort 'Wayne arrived in the city this morning for a few days' visit with friends. Mrs. Dan Niblick and son, Omer, who have been at Rome City for several days, returned to the city. Mrs. Will Harting and son. Rayjnond, have returned from St. Henry, Ohio, where they visited with friends. R. K. Allison left this morning for South Bend, where he will attend to some timber business for several days. Arthur Kleinhenz, who has been the guest of his brother at Fort Wayne a week, returned to the city yesterday. Mr and Mrs. William Double arrived Tuesday from Warren, Ohio, for a visit with their cousin, Mrs. Joan George Bauserman left this morning for Three Rivers, Mich., where he will be absent from the city several days. The Misses Ireta and Doris Erwin went to Pleasant Mills today to visit with their grandmother, Mrs. W. H. Martz. L. G. EHingham is at Muncie at tending the democratic convention which met there at 9 o'clock this morning. Mr. M. Burns has returned from a four weeks’ visit in California. Washington and Oregon and other states in the west. Mrs. Curtis Wolfe and son, Thurman. went to Fort Wayne yesterday so ra visit with her husband, who is working there. W. J. '.Meyers went to Huntington yesterday to attend the National Union convention as a delegate from the local ontier. Mrs. Mary Smith and daughter. Miss Margaret, left yesterday for Covington, Ky„ where they will spend the summer visiting with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Gottemoller and children, who were in attendance at the wedding of Mr. Gottemoller's brother -nt Celina, returned home today. Miss Louva Stoneburner, who has been suffering from nervous prostration for several weeks, is some better and topes for her recovery are entertained. Mrs. William Nix and sons. Cyril and Robert arrived in the city from Huntington to attend the commencement tomorrow evening, when her brother, Fred Miller, will graduate. Relatives here have received word of the birth of a son the latter part of April to Mr. and Mrs. Bert Dietelbach of Findlay, Ohio. Mrs. Dletelbach was formerly Miss Belle W ilder of Root township. Reuben Robinson who has been at the home of his aunt at Honduras, is here to visit -until Sunday with hfs mother, Mrs. John Glancey. The lad is somewhat in with stomach trouble and came home to recuperate. Dr. and Mrs. Mark Moran of Portland stopped off here Tuesday evening enroute home from Fort Wayne where they had taken a patient to the hospital, and were the guests of his sister, Mrs. P. K. Kinney, and other relatives. Mr. and Mrs. L. G. Ellingham, daughter, Winifred and son, Miller, will leave Thursday morning for French Lick, Indiana, where they will attend the mid-summer meeting of the Indiana Democratic Editorial association. The sessions will continue during the week. W. S. Smith went to Muncie this morning to attend the state meeting of Baptist Sabbath school workers. He was accompanied by Rev. Ehle of Decatur, the pastor whom the Bluffton men helped to install a short time ago. Mr. Smith is superintendent of the Bluffton school. —Bluffton Banner.

Will Hammel left this afternoon for Portland, where he will spend several days visiting with relatives. D, D Clark left last night for Chicago, where be will attend to some business maters in his profession. Rev. D. A. J. Brown of Pleasant Mills went to Angola this morning to attend the Epworth League conference. John Ream of Willshire changed cars here thia morning on his way to Richmond, Where he looked after business interests. Mrs. E. J. Denman of Willshire transferred here enroute to Fort Wayne for a visit with H. C. Underwood and family. Mrs. B. A. Dent of Fort Wayne and Mrs. Frank Cramer of Van Wert, Ohio, have returned home after a visit with Joe Harris and family. Mrs. John Bowers left this morn ing for Rome City, where she will put things in order at their summer cottage for the summer season. Howard Shackley went to Fort Wayne this morning to consult an eye specialist regarding a cataract which is growing over his right eye. Unclaimed letters are at the postoffice for James Wyer. N. The reservation of seats for the commencement exercises of St Joseph’s school, will open at the Holtrouse drug store tomorrow morning. Mrs. Hattie Dixon, agent for the Hot Point iron, is again calling on the ladies of Decatur. She is receiving a number of orders. Sh»- is also meeting with success with the sale of the electric toaster. David Flanders returned from Sanford, Mich., where he has spent sev eral days at his farm, and will remain here a few days before returning there. D. M. Hensley returned home from Rome City, where he has been since Sunday, putting things in shape for the removing of his family there for the summer. The Misses Ruby She'ts, Verna Mann, Etta Mallonee, Katie and Lena Leimenstoll, Florence Meyers, Neva Brandyberry and Margaret Mills were among the number who left this morning to attend the Epworth League convention at Angola this weak. Miss Mills will visit over Sunday with her brother, Frank, who is a student in the normal school there. A gasoline stove fire at the home of Walter Strubel did not result in any damage, although fire companies were called. Company No. 2 was delayed several minutes by a long freight train on the Air Line and did not reach the house until after the central company arrived. The stove did not explode and no one was injured—Elkhart Herald.

Charles Reichard of Willshire, Ohio, transferred here this morning enroute to Fort Wayne. O. J. Suman of Pleasant Mills passed through the city this ihorning on his way to Fort Wayne. Don Wagner of Continental, Ohio, who was here visiting with relatives, left today for his home. Miss Nellie Schrock is expected home from Indianapolis today, where she has been visiting. William Schinnerer of Willshire, Ohio, transferred here this afternoon on his way to Fort Wayne. Otto Nyffeler returned this afternoon to Fairview, Oklahoma, where he is employed, after a visit here. The Michigan & Indiana Land company is the name of a new organization succeeding the Michigan Land company, with David Flanders, president. The main officers are located in this city, with a branch office at Sanford, Mich.
