Hower and children, Maxwell and Frances, arrived today from Anderson for a visit with relatives. Mr. Hower will come Sunday to join them here. Chester Roop and children, who have been visiting with relatives in the city for a few days, left this noon for Pleasant Mills, where they will also make a short stay. Mrs. Charles Gage of Mott, N. Dak., has aA-ived in the city for a visit with her father, Daniel Kitson. This is her first visit to this place since they moved there about four years ago. Charles Niblick and son, Stewart, will leave Monday for Rennselaer, where they will attend the commencement exercises to be held there on next Monday evening and Tuesday morning. Rev. D. I. Hower arrived yesterday from Bradyville, lowa, and is the guest of his brothers and sisters. Rev. Hower will give a lecture in the Mt. Pleasant M. E. church Monday evening. Mrs. P. G. Hooper left this morning for Rome City, where she will spend several weeks at their cottage there. She was accompanied there by Mrs. Ansel Bremerkamp and children, who wil spend Sunday with her. The Presbyterian Christian Endeavor and the evening preaching hour have been merged into one, the hour from 6 to 7 -being given over to this. Special music has been prepared and this hour is made one of unusual spiritual inspiration. Mrs. George Eckhart of Union, S. Dak., and her uncle, R. J. Bainsey of Mitcap, Ind., changed cars here this moyiing on tneir way to Fort Wayne, where they will spend a few days as the guests of her brother, whom she has not seen for twenty years. Mrs. Mery Wemhoff and daughter, Celesta, and Miss Anna Clark will go to Rensselaer Sunday, where they will attend the commencement exercises there Monday evening and Tuesday morning, when the former’s son will graduate from the commercial course. The Misses May and Genevieve Berlir.g left this n’crninj ,nr Port Wayne, where this afternoon they attended the commencement exercises of the Sacred Heart academy, which was held at the Majestic theater. The former was a student at the college in 1902. Mrs. Margaret Meibers and grandson, Bob Meibers, left yesterday for Jeffersonville, where they will visit with the former’s daughter, Mrs. Theodore Droppieman and daughter, Miss Sylvia. Miss Sylvia, who has been quite sick for some time with tonsilitis, is reported as being much better.

Raymond Bremerkamp made a business trip to Portland today. Henry Koenemann will leave this evening with three car loads of cattle tor the Pittsburg markets. Joe Winteregg, who was in the city for several days on business, left this noon for his home at Berne. Kenyon Walters was at Monroe today, where he was disposing of some of his Saturday Evening Posts. Ted Donadlson of Warsaw- is visiting with his grandmother, Mrs. Vail, and his aunt, Mrs. Dan Sprang. Elmo Smith left today noon for Fort Recovery, Ohio, where he will spend several days visiting with friends. Ed Kleinhenz of Fort Wayne is here for a visit over Sunday with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Kleinhenz. Ben Gerard went to Portland today wher tie will spend Sunday with his sister. Miss Pearl Baumgartner, who has been in city several days, returned to her home at Linn Grove today. Mrs. R. B. Allison and Mrs. Deam of Bluffton left this afternoon for Geneva. where they will be the guests Os relatives over Sunday. Several of the young people attended the dance given at Bingen at the home of Henry Brockmeyer and report an unusually good time. All Pythian Sisters should be at the Home tomorrow afternoon at 2 o’clock to attend the union memorial services of the lodges. All should bring flowers if possible. Mrs. L. B. Boulton of .Michigan City and Miss Dessie Mann will go to Fort Wayne Sunday to visit with their brothers, John and Hiram Mann, and with Mrs. Henry Wagoner. Mrs. S. Wehmeyer, who has been visiting here with her son, the Rev. Wehmeyer, went to Fort Wayne for a visit with her daughter, Mrs. H. Getting. She was accompanied to Ft. Wayne by her son. Ct H. Brackett lof Indianapolis, president of the Hoosier Casualty Insurance company, was in the city yesterday afternoon and called on the local representative, Walter Johnson. Mr. Brackett was on his way home from Fort Wayne, where he had been looking after business matters. Charles E. Ehle, pastor of the Baptist church, has prepared a special sermon in an appeal for men for Sunday evening, his subject being “The Reasonableness of Christianity, or Some Reasons Why Men Should be Christians.” All men are made welcome and are given a special invitation to attend. A message received here late from Fort Wayne stated that John McMullen, aged sixty-four, contractor and builder, was badly hurt, and there are no hopes for recovery. He is well known here, having charge of the carpenter work on the new Bowers building, and is related to Mrs. Mary Wemhoff. Mrs. John Colchin and Mrs. Catherine McLean and others. Mrs. Wemhoff left on tue 4 o’clock car for Fort Wayne.
