The fight was an attempt to destroy the present committee on rules, which governs the house and of which Speaker Cannon is chairman. The committee now consists of five members appointed by the speaker and by which he has retained absolute control of the house. Yesterday Insurgent Norris asked permission to offer a resolution creating a new committee of nine members and barring the speaker. The fight was on and it may last for years to come. MRS. KRAU? While there Mr. Colchin and Lange have won a host of friends and have always enjoyed a liberal patronage from the people of that place. As to what they will do in the future they cannot say at present, but state that it is their intention to remailn in this city.
