Brokaw made a business trip to Monroe this morning and returned on the afternon train. C. D. Lewton went to Portland, where he was attending to some business during the day. Misses Ttooie Hilderbrand, Bertha Keller, Inez Ray spent Sunday in Bluffton with friends. Miss Sophia Blum, who has been visiting at Schum, Ohio, transferred her on her way home at Auburn. Miss Anna Salomon passed through the city on her way home to Fort Wayne after a visit at Schum, Ohio. Omer Butler left this morning for Bernie, where he is teaching after spending Sunday here with his family. John Bollinger and force of men left this morning for Berne, where they were engaged in doing some work during the day. Mrs. Clarence Winters and son, Donald, returned to Fort Wayne after a visit with George Winters and family and other relatives. Wilson Miller arrived from Fort Wayne Saturday to join his wife in a visit here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Steele, and other relatives. Mrs. Mary Rundquest and Miss Lugenia Ireland of Fort Wayne were here Saturday afternoon organizing soap clubs. They returned home on ;the 4 o’clock car. Mr. and Mrs. John Ritter left Sunday morning for a week’s visit with relatives. They will visit with their son at Lima, Ohio, and with Mrs. Ritter’s brother, James Coppersmith, and family at Rockford, Ohio.

Ben Garard returned Saturday afternoon from Portland, where he visited with friends. Henry Eiting went to Berne, where he was looking after some business throughout the day. The clerks at the Niblick store today began their annual Invoice of the stock, which will be quite a large task. Misses Tottie Hildebrand, Bertha Keller, Tnace and Bertha Bogner visited over Sunday with friends in Bluffton. Charles Baker, Ike Nelson and force of men were engaged in working at the P. W. Smith saw-mill at Berne today. Ed Zwick of the north part of the county is contemplating a trip to Nebraska soon for a visit with his brother. Mrs. Ella Krauhs returned to her home at Fort Wayne after a visit with her rother, Oscar Jones, and family. Dallas Butler and force of men left today for Albion, where they will commence work on a large contract they have there. Paul Mills and Morton Willcett returned Sunday evening to Greentown after spending Sunday with H. Hite and family. Mr. and Mrs. George Houser have sold their home near Preble and will probably move to this city for their future home. Miss Clara Burr left Saturday afternoon for Akron, Ohio, after a visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Burr, at Monmouth. Miss Marguerite Walters, who is teaching in French township, spent Sunday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Walters. Mrs. Clint Fisher and her brother, Lilburn McCardle, of Dixon, 111., spent Sunday with her sister, Mrs. Rebecca Emery, at Fort Wayne. J. E. Thomas of Cardwell, Mo., who has been in the city for several days, left today for South Bend, where he made a short visit with friends.
