Reynolds is visiting for a few days with his daughter, Mrs. Blanche Hoffman at Preble. Mrs. Amelia Hoagland has gone to Knox for a visit with her daughter, Mrs. H. A. Snyder. Miss Grace Buhler is visiting this afternoon with Miss Rosie Fuhrman north of the city. Henry Gunsett returned home today from Willshire,, where he was looking after some business. Bruce Patterson will spend a few days with friends at Winchester, he going there this afternoon. Fred Jaebker wil spend Thanksgiving Day with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William F. Jaebker at Preble. Mr. and Mrs. Will Sype have gone to Berne, where they will visit over the Thanksgiving with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. A. N. Steele left last evening for Weedsport, New York, where they wil Ispend Thanksgiving. Mrs. Jehu Smith, of Pleasant Mills, has gone to Fort Wayne for a visit with her son, William Smith and family. Mrs. N. J. Baughman and son Lester, have gone to Portland, where they will visit several days with her sons. Miss Lizzie Knoke of Huntington, arrived in the city to spend Thanksgiving with Miss Edith Miller and other friends. Mrs. C. U. Dorwlu went to Fort Wayne this morning where she will spend Thanksgiving with her daughter, Mrs. Jesse Braden. Lr. Porter, of Fort Wayne, visited last evening with Mrs. Samantha Dorwin, who was injured in a runaway accident a few days ago. Miss Frances Gaffer went to Fort Wayne to visit with her uncle, Michae 1 Gaffer and family and with her grandmother, Mrs. Mary Gaffer. H. H. Bremerkamp left this morning for Rensselaer where he will visit s with his son, Earl, who is a student e at the St. Joseph academy. B Miss Stella Smith and her brother, 1 Elmo, left this afternoon for Fort * Recovery to make a few days visit with their sister, Mrs. Elerding. Dr. and Mrs. Thomas and son Bryce left this afternon for Greenville and Glencairn, Ohio, where they will be the guests of friends for a few days. Miss Mae Radamacher Is spending the day in Fort Wayne. John Hessler made a business trip to Fort Wayne today. Mr. and Mrs. O. P. Edwards, of Leipsic, Ohio, will spend Thanksgiving here. Chas. Ross, of Richmond, will be the guest of friends in the city over Thanksgiving. Miss Bernice Brackett of Hammond, will be here this evening to attend the Thanksgiving ball. Otto Wemhoff and Ed Coffee visited with friends in Huntington last even ing and attended a dance. Miss Ada Deinitjger will go to Fort Wayne to spend Thanksgiving with her sister, Mrs. Edgar Kilbourne. Quite a number of the business men of the city will take advantage of the vacation tomorrow to go hunting. Mr. and Mrs. John Glancey will be the guests of Mr. and Mrs. W'hitehurst at Berne,over Thanksgiving day. Will Berllng arrived home this evening from Bluffton and will be the guest of friends over Thanksgiving. The large plate glass for the Reiter & France cigar store has arrived, and will be put in place as soon as possible. Miss Daisy Holmes, trimmer at the Boesse millinery store, will spend Thanksgiving with her parents at Marion. W. A. Fonner and Charles Magley went to Berne this morning in the interests of the Adams County Poultry Association. Ted Sowers came home from his school work and will spend a few days with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dr. Sowers. Miss Gertrude Ward, of Huntington, will be among the out of town attendants at the Thanksgiving ball this evening. M>. and Mks. TJony Forbing, ot Milford, will be the guests of his parents, Mr. and Mts. Peter Forbing for a few days. Mrs. George Meihls went'to Fort Wayne this morning, where she will visit with her brother-in-law, Henry Ladig and wife. Mrs. Genedict Vhl and son Clem, of Toledo. Ohio, will arrive in the city tomorrow for a few days’ visit with friends and relatives. Ed Berling, who is working at Fort Wayne, will come home this evening and spend Thanksgiving with his mother, Mrs. H. Berling. Brice True returned home from his school duties and will spend a few days’ vacation in the city with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. True. Miss Agnes Starost, who is working in Fort Wayne, will arrive home this evening to spend her vacation with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Starost. Misses Esther and Beatrice Presdorf, Mabel Winans and Mr. Albert Presdorf will spend Thanksgiving with Noah Presdorf and family at Woodburn. Mrs. Anothony Arnold and children arrived in the city yesterday from Fort Wayne, where they were called owing to the severe illness of her mother. Herb Lankenau who has been at Fort Wayne for some time working, arrived home last evening and will spend a few days in the city with his parents. Dan Baumgartner, a teacher in the Decatur high school will go to Linn Grove to spend his Thanksgiving holidays with his mother, Mrs. Rosanna Baumgartner. Misses Floe and Lucia Strassburger, of Willshire, Ohio, came to this city and took the eight o’clock interurban car for Fort Wayne, where they will spend the day. John Confer, of Detroit, Mich., arrived home this noon on account of the illness of his mother. Mrs. Catherine Center, who took a change for the worse yesterday. J. H. Voglewede, John and Anthony Voglewede returned this morning from Lima. Ohio, where they were called by the death of their sister, Mrs. Michael Houhey. Misses Frances Miller and Iretta Erwin attended the box social at Pleasant Mills, last evening, given at the school tought by Wilson Beery. A very good time is reported. Mrs. John Byer and daughter, Margaret, of Willshire, transferred here this morning on their way to Fort Wayne, where they will visit with her brother, W. A. Hileman and family. Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Myers went to Fort Wayne this afternoon, where they joined Mr. and Mrs. Robert Harding, and proceeded to South Bend, where they will visit over Thanksgiving With the Pfeifer family. Ahe dance at the K. of C. hall this evening promises to be a swell affair, and a large number of lovers of this art will take part. The Misses Bernice Bracket of Hammond, Gertrude Ward of Huntington, and Ethel Bollman of Indianapolis, will be in atte dance.
Chas. Magley was transacting business at Berne today. Sherman Kunkel, of Monmouth, was in Decatur this morning on business. Otto Bogner went to Portland to» day, where he will spend a day with friends. Miss Rose Dunathan will spend Thanksgiving at her home in Van Wert, Ohio. Dan Beery made a business trip to Berne this morning, remaining throughout the day. From all indications Thanksgiving Day will be an ideal one from a weather standpoint. C. A. Stanford from east of the city, went to Berne, where he transacted some business during the day. Andrew Crabill, who has been working at Monroe for some time, resumed his work there this morning. Alex Lebrun, who is engaged in do ing some work at Monroe for some days past, returned there this morning. Waited Johnson returned to his home this morning at Monroe, after being in the city attending to some business. E. N. Welcher, who was in the city yesterday on business pertaining to his store at Union City, returned here this morning. A little touch of winter weather ieminds us that the season is approching when it will be well to have the coal bin well filled. Miss Annette Johnson, of the city high school faculty, will go to her home at Fairmount to spend her Thanksgiving vacation. Sam Acker, of Geneva, arrived in the city this morning, where he was looking up friends and attending tq_ business during the day. Misses Lida Conklin and Nora Sleppy will arrive from Bluffton this evening and be the guests of Miss Vera Hammond over Thanksgiving. Miss Margaret Walters, who 's teaching school in French township, will arrive home this evening to spend her Thanksgiving vacation with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Walters. William Baughman, of Fort Wayne, was a business visitor here yesterday, returning home last evening. He was accompanied by his daughter, Mrs. C. J. Pittman, who spent the day with Miss Kate Mangold. But a very small crowd witnessed the play “Oh You Kid’’ at the opera house last evening, but those who were present received their money's worth. They left this morning for Geneva, where they will show this evening. John Niblick will go to Fort Wayne this evening to meet his daughter. Miss Helen, who has been attending school at Ferry Hall, Lake Forest, 111., and who 1s coming home to spend her Thanksgiving vacation with her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hoffman and daughter Hope left today for Garv, Ind., where they will make a few days’ visit with their daughter, Mrs. Walter Plew. They will also stop over at Elkhart, where they will make a short visit with Mr. and Mrs. Vanderlip. Mr. and Mrs. Sam Johnson and hi? niece, Miss Bess Eurick, left this morning on their way to Morgantown, West Va., where they will make a few weeks’ visit with relatives. On their way they will stop off at Columbus and Newark, Ohio, where they will also make short visits. Lew G. ElMngham looking after business at Indianapolis for a few days this week. He will return by way of Winchester, where Mrs. El- - and children will join him and they will enjoy the annual family reunion there on Thanksgiving day. Mr. Ellingham will arrive home on Friday. According to a dispatch which has been sent out from Logansport there will be a meeting of all the road contractors of the state at Indianapolis Sunday, at which time the contractors will decide what is to be done in regard to the finding of the supreme court, in which it was declared that the three-mile law was unconstitutional. Ralph Stetson, who began his business career as a carrier on the Dailv Democrat, several years ago. returned yesterday from Alma, Mich., where he has lived since last June with his uncle, E. E. Stetson, who owns a large farm within a mile of that place. Ralph vas much taken with the farm work and will likely return there after a visit wit hhfs parents here. At times of heavy rains, the water runs very deep in th egutter at the side of the brick streets, and in order to prevent this and establish a good place for the alighting of its passengers, the interurban company had a number of employes engaged in tearing up the bricks and leveling the street at that, side In front of the interurban office. Passengers will greatly appreciate this much greater convenience.

Elton Brown has gone to Fort Wayne this afternon on business. Walter Johnson went to Preble this morning, where he attended to some insurance during the day. Dick Roop went to Fort Wayne this morning, where he will get a bunch of fine horses for Frisinger & Com pany. The show which played at the opera house last evening left this morning for Geneva, where they will show this evening. Mr. and Mrs. Wash Pyle left this morning for Peru, where they will spend Thanksgiving with their son. Irvin and family. Mayor-elect Frank Smith of Bluffton has announced the following appointments: Marshal, Charles V. Pierce; SupL water works, Watt De Haven; Supt. light plant, O. M. Long, stret commissioner, Henry Gehrett: electrician, George Nicholson; health officer, Dr. Rincar. W. A. Kuebler and C. A. Dugan left, this afternoon for Shelby, Ohio, where they will spend Thanksgiving with Mr. Kuebler’s mother, and with his brother, Father Kuebler. These visits at Thanksgiving time are annual affairs Which are looked forward to with much pleasure by Messrs. Kuebler and Dugan.
