Kintz, of Fort Wayne, returned to her home today. Mrs. L. B. Brokaw, who has been quite sick, is much better. Mayor France was attending to some Important business at Geneva today. John Schug was attending to business at Hoagland for a short while today. Dan Beery was a business caller at Fort Wayne and returned home during the day. Leo Sprunger and Ralph Johnson left for Fort Wayne this morning to take up their school work. Fred Fruchte who attended to business at Fort Wayne this morning, returned home on the afternoon car. Al Presdorf left this morning for Linn Grove and Berne, where he attended to business throughout the day. Msis Clara reters resumed her work at Fort Wayne this morning after spending Sunday in the city with her parents. Miss Merle Burdg who was in the city as the guest of her parents over Sunday, returned to her work at Garrett this morning. Miss Bertha Ervin who spent Sunday in the city with her parents, and returned to her work at Fort Wayne this morning. Frank Straub was injured by one of the Teeple drays while he was crossing Madison street in front of True & Runyon's grocery department. The lad was thrown over and his foot was badly injured. According to present indications the affidavits in the Cotton case will be dropped. No arrests have been made and mutual friends have been trying to get the matter adjusted so that there will be no further trouble. They feeel that now since the trouble has been setled that nothing should be brought up which would reopen it. —Bluffton Banner.

Free Frisinger was the guest of Vane Weaver at dinner yesterday. Miss Jennie Crayle, of rural route 12, was in the city shopping today Barney Kalver returned to his work ( at Bluffton, after being in the city over Sunday. A. R. Bell Is transacting business at Saratoga, Ind., and will be gone for a few days. Trustee Wechter, of Blue Creek township, was a business visitor in the city today. Miss Esther Corbett went to Fort Wayne this morning and will attend schoool this week. Mrs. John Baitinger returned to Berne this morning after being in the city over Sunday. Otto Daniel and wife came home from Huntington, where they spent a week visiting relatives. John Bollinger and force of men returned to Berne to do some mason work this coming week. Miss Marguerite Walters, who is teaching school at Berne, resumed her work there this morning John Holthouse made a business trip to Bluffton this morn tag and will returne home this evening. Scott Ellis, of Geneva, returned to his work this morning after spending Sunday here with his parents. Walter Kauffman who spent. Sunday in the city, returned on his trip south for the Schafer Hradware Co. C. D. Lewton, who was in the city over Sunday with his family, left today for Portland on business. Miss Nora Helm of St. Marys township, who has been the guest of her sister at Peterson, has returned. John DMot and son Joseph were in the city yesterday and returned to their home at Geneva last evening. Miss Della Belber’Jch who has been quite sick, is much better, and returned to Fort Wayne last evening. Miss Marguerite Walters returned to Berne to resume her work as teacher of a school near that place. Omer Butler who spent Sunday in the city with his family, resumed his school work at Berne this morning. D. D. Coffee left this mornitag for several places in Ohio, where he will attend to his regular line of business. Theodore Kennedy was a little bet’ ter yesterday. Mr. Kennedy has been sick for some time. He is still quite weak. Miss Mabel Weldy returned this morning to Marion, w-here she will resume her studites at the conservatory.
Hugh Perkins returned to Monroe after spending Sunday with his parents. He is the teacher of the Hocker school. Miss Glenys Mangold and Leah Hensley returned this morning from a visit with Miss Doris Acker at Geneva. Work on the Bowers building is going steadily on and the contractor and his force will finish the building as soon as possible. Fred Hoffman returned to Lynn this morning, where he will attend to business pertaining to the school house which he is erecting. Ben Lange who spent Sunday in the city with his parents, returned to Geneva this morning to take up his work in the candy kitchen. David Hunsicker, the genial conductor on the Fort Wayne and Springfield has been quite seriously sick of late. He remains about the same. Mrs. Gentiss, wife of County Assessor George Gentiss is very low at her home on west Monroe street. The children have been called to her bedside. Miss Dessie Beery and Mrs. Henry Stevens have charge of the rummage sale today and report good sales. So far the society have raised about eighty-five dollars. The money will pay off the brick street debt. The remains of Mr. George Thomas who died on last Saturday morning at Elkhart, was brought home this noon over the G. R. & I. and taken to his home, about four mi’es south of the city and arrangements for the funeral made. The election of road supervisors will be held this year, the election to be on Saturday, December 18. The trustee of each township is required to post notices for this election and to appoint an inspector, who names the judges, and the law is to the effect that these men shall serve without pay. The supervisor is very near to the interests of everybody and especially to the farmers and the matter of good, roads. Persons residing in cities and incorporated towns cannot vote for supervisors.—Bluffton Barmer.

Merry is visiting with friends at Geneva for a few days. Miss Flora Stripe of Montpelier, spent Sunday with Miss Sue Mayer. Mrs. J. H. Jones, of Jessup, Ind., is the guest of Mrs. Julia Colchin. Harve Rice came home from Berne this morning after spending Sunday at that place. John Schug who spent Sunday with his parents at Berne, returned home this morntag. Paul Harrod, who wrns visiting with friends at Fort Wayne yesterday returned home. Miss B -rtha Dodane, of near Fort Wayne, was in the city Sunday visiting with friends. Miss Ola Harruff returned home from Berne, where she spent Sunday with friends. Paul Kendui of Willshire, was in the city yesterday and made a short stay with friends. J. D. Martz of Monroe, returned to hDs home after transacting business in the city today. Will Wlnhes made a business trip to Geneva this afternoon and retured home on the evening train. Misa Nellie Winnes who spent Sunday with her sister, Mrs. Hugh Miller, returned home last evening. Mrs. Fred Tague and babe Helen, who was visiting with relatives at Winchester over Sunday, returned home today. Julius Kendrid and family, of Kendallville, are in the city visittag with Mr. and Mrs. Jacob C. Atz and family for a few’ days. Frank Bosse spent Sunday with his son Harmon at St. Josephs hospital Fort Wayne, who has been confined there for some time. Mrs. Bud Brokaw, who has been on the sick list for the past week, suffering from gall stones, is reported as being some Improved. Miss Leah Hensley and Miss Gladys Mangold, who were the guests of friends at Geneva over Sunday, returned home this morning. The ladies of the Christian church wish to announce that their rummage sale will continue till next Saturday. Their prices are low and everyone is invited to call. It but needed the decrease In price of Indiana oil to complete the abandonment of the Wells county field, according to a prominent oil man, in speaking of the recent reduction in price. As a result, he said, that the principal activity whibh would be noticed henceforth in the local oil field would be the pulling up of pipe from the abandoned wells and the taking out of the paraphernalia, needed in the operation of oil wells. —Bluffton Banner.

Ed Bailey left on his regular trip this afternoon. E. B. Adams made a business trip to Fort Wayne today. Miss Lydia Johnson returned to her home at Shumm tod,ay. Harmon Yager made a business trip to Fort Wayne this afternoon. L. S. Burkett, of Portland, was in the city today and looked up old friends. Edward SheUberstein returned to his home north of the city on the one o’clock car. Mrs. Charles Colter went to Fort Wayne this afternoon on the one o'clock car. Sam Weldy, of Bluffton, spent Sunday with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Crist Weldy Mr. Henry McQuister of Peterson, returned to hiu home after transacting business in the city. Mart McAfee, of Bluffton, representing the Bluffton dye house, was in the city today on business. John McKain went to Monroe this afternoon after being in the city for a short while this morning. Little Chas. Holthouse is suffering from a severe carbuncle on the back of his head, which is giving him much pain.

Shaffer Peterson made a buaineaa trip Bluffton today. Attorney C. J. Lutz made a business trip to Marlon today. Mrs. Ned Steele went to Marion today for a visit with friends and relatives. I. L. Babcock returned to Frankfort after attending to bustaess interests in the city. Miss Elidabeth Voglewede had as her guest Sunday her nephew, John Touhey, of Muncie. George Babcock, of Logansport, visited friends in the city yesterday. Mr. Babeock is located at that place in the drug business and is doing fine. E. H. Lane, of Fort Wayne, made a business trip to Bluffton today. Mr. demonstrated the quality es his brand of coffee at True store on their opening day. Parties who nave been hunting on the Studabaker farm east of the city are hereby notified that they are violating the law in doing so, and that some one will be arrested if the practice is not cut out. William Koons, of Fairbanks, Alaska, and a partner of Fred Martin, of this city, will arrive here this afternoon for a several days' visit with friends. He was here a year ago and made many acquaintances.
