John Schug made his regular trip south this afternoon. Mrs. Fowler, of St. Louis, formerly ' Miss Dink Beery of this city, still continues in a very alarming condi-1 tlon, according to word received by friends here. Miss Emma Peoples entertained several guests at her home near Craigville Friday evening for dinner. The guests were Misses Susie and Grace Helm, Laura and Grace Sweeney of Hammond. The Holy Grail social last night was largely attended, and some excellent music was rendered. John Reiter, wife and son went to Fort Wayne today, where they will meet Mr .and Mrs. Henry Reiter and from there they will start on a trip to Chicago and Milwaukee. They expect to be gone a week and to have a splendid time. Ex-Sheriff Albert A. Butler of Decatur, now engaged in the cement contracting business with his son, was in the city Thursday. His firm has secured the contract for the concrete foundation and about 3,000 feet of cement flooring to be used in the contruction of a large barn on the Mathias Shirk farm in Jackson township.—Portland Sun. Mr. and • Mrs. C. C. Sheets passed Friday evening in a pleasant way at their home northwest of the city by inviting in a few of the neighbors and friends in honor of Mrs. Sheets’ sister, Mrs. G. W. Wade of Celina. Music and games made the evening pass quickly for the guests. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. H. E.
