The orator of the evening is one of the best on the lecture platform, and you will miss the best yet by failing to hear Rev. Wickersham, who is sought in every state in the Union, and he is sure to please and entertain you. His style is varied. His humor is profuse and back of it all is the message he wishes to convey. This he does with so much force that those who are adverse to lectures cannot help but catch the inspiration of the orator. If any one has a pessimistic view of lecturers, we hope you will hear Rev. Wickersham. If he does not please you, the Senior class will gladly refund you the price of admission. Come out and help to boost the public schools, boost a good cause. Lend your influence to a cause that will “help to make noble men and women of our boys and girls. Hicks storm conditions will develop on the first and move regularly from west to east. Thunder storms in June will be more sporadic; this is liable to break out in several scattered localities. From the first to the 20th is the seismic cycle, during which we may momentarily expect to hear at any time of cities and nations being dropped into the sea or shaken off of the map. Volcanoes will be active and will be lavish with their lava. The regular storm period will be on the 10th, lasting from the Sth until the 13th inclusive. Here is where the lightning will cut capers and will give particularly fine exhibitions within three days of the 11th. Some earthquakes are billed for the 13th. The reactionary period of storms will be from the 16th to the 18th. The culmination of the seismic strain will come within three days of noon on the 17th, but, the forecast consolingly says, the rumpus will doubtless be in the extremes of the earth. From the 19th to the 23d will be regular storm period. Thunder storms can be expected each and every afternoon, with fluctuations of the barometer, high temperature, great humidity and startling electrical displays. Sunday, June 29th, will contain all these things. High winds with possible tornadoes will attend some of these storms.
