Those present were Mr. James Wagoner, Messrs, and Mesdames Nicholas Wagoner and Mart Keiber, Messrs. Fred, Harry, James and Wayne Wagoner, Noah, Woner, Harry Marschand, and the Misses Mary, Rosa Wagoner and Maggie, Osa and Emma Marschand. The Aid Society of St. Paul’s church will meet with Mrs. G. W. Miller Thursday afternoon. - The Aid Society of the Evangelical church will meet Thursday afternoon with Mrs. William Barnhart. The St. Vincent de Paul Society will meet at th* home of Mrs. D. D. Clark Wednesday afternoon, April 28th. All ladies are requested to bring their thimbles.

SHEER PLUNGE OF 425 FEET * Workman Falls from Thirty-Fourth Story of Sky-Scraper, New York, April 26. —Falling 425 feet from the thirty-fourth story of the Metropolitan Life Insurance company's skyscraper in Madison Square today, Thomas Mortimore, 42, was instantly killed. Mortimore, who was foreman of the riggers at work on the building, was superintending the erection of a scaffold four floors above the big clock on the Twenty-fourth street side of the tower. Hundreds of , people in Madison Square were watching him at work and saw him fall to the balustrade or the balcony about the clock. New York Senator’s 75th Birthday is Celebrated. New York, April 26.—A great birthday cake, sparkling with seventy-five candles and garnished with an equal number of new pennies was presented to Senator Chauncey M. Depew tonight at a dinner yi honor of his sev-enty-fifth birthday at the Montauk club, Brooklyn. He has been the guest lof honor on seventeen similar occasions.
