OPERATED UPON O. Godfrey Bell Submitted to Operation at Chicago Hospital Yesterday FOR APPENDICITIS Was Cause for Operation— Telegram Says He Will Recover A telegram from Chicago addressed io Vincent D. Bell, conveys the news , that his son, O. Godfrey, a salesman for the Tom Murray clothing bouse, 'and well known in Decatur, underwent I the severity of an operation yesterday morning for gagreen appendicitis and that he stood the ordeal well. Godfrey, who for years was a resident of Decatur, a brother-in-law of O. P. j Mills, and County Recorder H. V. Steele, has for some time been in a critical condition. In fact his case became so alarming that it was deemed absolutely necessary that an operation be performed immediately, which was done, as the following telegram, received yesterday, indicates: Mr. V. D. Bell, Decatur. Ind.: Your son Godfrey was operated on this morning for gangreen appendicitis and stood operation well. The same was performed at the Frances Willard hospital.
