OBITUARY. Elizabeth Auten Fonner was born I in Carroll county. Oh: .. April *O. 1555. I died May 12, 1908, age 72 years aad 122 days. When a small girl she moved with her parents. Jacob and Martha 1 Auten, to Fostoria. Ohio, where she resided until the spring of 1850. In | the spring of that year she again I moved with her parents to Jcnes ; county, lowa, and in the fall of the same came to Root township, Adams county. Indiana, where she resided continuously up to the time of her | death. On May 21. 1861, she was uhit- ! ed in marriage to Jacob Fonner. with whom she lived until his death which occurred in the year 1890. To this union were born th.ree children, Mari tha J., Willis A., and J. B. Fonner, ! all of whom survive her. She is also I survived by one sister Mrs Sampson Pillars, who is the only one remaining of the two brothers and four sisters who composed the immediate family. Mrs. Fonner became affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran church in the year 1857 and was a faithful and • devout member of that church until . the time of her death. She was a 1 woman of noble Christian character, a gentle, thoughtful and loving mothr. lovable disposition and always solicitous for the welfare of others, sacrificing her own pleasures and comfort for those near and dear to her.
