Rainear. William Scherer, of Monroe, was iijjured yesterday while unloading corn fodder, the result being that he is : forced to walk with the aid of a cane. I The injury received was to his right knee. Frank Robison, formerly of this county, and who has been located in Oregon for a year or more, has writ-, ten Bluffton friends that he and Mrs. Robison will arrive home in a few days. Another very noticeable change in the weather occurred this morning and instead of th e balmy summer breezes one was met with the chilly blasts of winter. Guess the weather man knows his business at that. A number of Decatur people attend-1 ed the musical given last evening at the Majestic theater at Fort Wayne and those who heard the same are loud in their praises and state that it was ' the best thing ever pulled off in Fort Wayne. The workmen are rapidly progressing in the work of cutting an archway between the interurban station and the room wherein the Pictorium was -located until a short time ago and by tomorrow night the arch will be entirely completed. No games were played yesterday in the DeWitt tournament and' as a result the standing is the same as on Monday. Several games are scheduled for this evening and as stated before the tournament should close this week and a champion be determined. M. Harmon, wfho is doing some ditch work on the Fred Bell farm east of town, brought in a pocket full of crawfish last night. He says they are plentiful, and only a few inches under the ground, an unheard of instance for January in Indiana. The funeral of Christopher Hohmeyer, was held today at the Freidheim church at two o’clock, Rev. Pr.euss officiating, and a large crowd being present to pay their last tribute of respect to the deceased. Interment was made in the Freidheim cemetery. The floral offerings were beautiful and profuse. The funeral of the little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George L. Gase was held this morning at nine o’clock at the St. Marys Catholic church. Word from headquarters has been received stating that a new wagon will arrive in this city by next Saturday morning for the Wells Fargo Express company of this city. Mills is again able to resume his duties at the store, after an illness of several days duration from an attack of lagrippe. Attorney R. S. The case of the State against Mrs. McDaniels for assault and battery, which was to have been tried this morning, has been dismissed for lack ; of evidence. From all reports it • 1 seems as though Mrs. McDaniels act- - i ed in self defense and that the evir j dence would so show and to avoid - further costs and expense the state I concluded to dismiss the case.

Professor Baumgartner has resumed his duties in the high school after being detained for several days on account of sickness. Dallas Hower is detained from business on account of an attack of lagrippe. Many people in Decatur are confined to their homes on account of sickness the resutl of the changeable weather. A new show will be introduced this evening at the Pictorium also a Sew song. If you are loking for a place of amusement that’s the place to go.
