July Ist pa rn J . 27 Cts. 47 Cts. For The Little Florence Vein MAKES LIVELY BIDDING Half a dozen leases and mines are racing to capture the Little Florence ore shoot, but the betting favors Florence Extension, which in three weeks has jumped from 25 to 47 cents, with a lively demand that presages a still sharper advance in the stock Yesterday, bidding was lively at the outside quotation, and it is expected that before the end of the month Florence Extension will have doubled its present value. One of the sharpest trades turned on the board during the week was on a big block of Extension. Parkison. who owns a controlling interest, was called to the telephone booth to hear the story of the big strike. As he retired from the floor. McCormack Dorsey & Go's representative jumped into the ring with an offer to sell 27.000 shares. He did not know what was going over the wires between Parkison and his superintendent, but Jack Reynolds, who was wise to the game, bid 29 cents for the entire block of stock, which the seller seemed glad to unload. Five minutes later, when rarkison emerged from the telephone booth and heard of the transaction. he was dumbfounded at the celerity of Reynolds in picking up a tip on what was supposed to be a close secret. The Florence Extension Mining company operates the Hustler, a fractional claim a few hundred feet east and north of the famous Little Florence. The controlling interest in the shares of * the company is held by Webb Parkison. and ever since ore that assayed pay was found the investing public had been in a mad race to secure some of the stock. There are two shafts on the block of ground, and in drifts t hat have been extended from them high-grade values are in evidence. In the deepest, which is 300 feet, there is showing a breast of ore that assays all the way from SIOO to $250 a ton. A general sample taken from cleat across the breast of the drift yesterday morning, vent at the rate of $175 a ton. From the present five foot ledge it will break down SSO a ton from the fall face of the drift I sold Little Florence 5 months ago for 10c, it is now 47c. I will offer to the readers of the Democrat in 10 payments, 1000 shares of stock in the Tubey Canyon Gold Field at 12c. This stock will be 25c by December Ist. 1907. EEEECOME AND SEE ME= I will be in Decatur for a short time. C. N. MURDOCK, -
