The members of the local order are thankful indeed to the citizens of Decatur in general who assisted in making the visit of the foreign knights a pleasant one and are sure that every knight present enjoyed themselves and went away with a kindly feeling for Decatur in their hearts. 0 ANOTHER BATTLE . (Continued from page 1.) politcal ring again. Cromers closet friends here say that they will not be surprised if he himself shall be a candidate for the congressional nomination again next year. They point out that although he has been in some very hard-fought contests he met his first and only Waterloo last year and this, they say, is not such a bad record as to discourage him from further efforts. Judging from recent developments the Eighth district will again occupy a large and | conspicuous place in the lime-light again next year.” Many of the Adams county admirers and supporters of Mr. Cromer insist that their champion will lead the party hosts and be their candidate for congress again. Not simply a candidate for the nomination, but the nominated candidate at the general election. Some of them talk so confident that one is led to conclude that some inside information has been passed around, and that they are talking by the card. Curious Effects of Frost. An egg expands when it is frozen so much that the increased bulk breaks the shell. Apples, on the contrary, contract to such an extent that a full barrel will shrink until the top layer will be a foot below the chime. When the frost has been slowly and carefully drawn out they again assume their normal size and appearance. Apples can be transported when the mercury is 20 degrees below zero. Potatoes once touched by frost are ruined. An Easier Trip. “The president of this road,” remarked the man in the corner of the smoking compartment, “is one of those old fashioned railroaders. He began as a brakeman. Instead of riding over the line in a private car to Inspect it, he walks over it.” “I don't blame him,” declared the man who was making his first trip on the road—Cleveland Press. A Lasting Impression. “Well, Bertha. I hear you met Mr. Cooke yesterday. Did you like him?” “Do you know, dear, he made an Impression upon me that nothing will obliterate.” “Really! How—what did he say?" “It wasn’t what be said; it was what he did. He spilled a cup of tea over my new white silk dress.” Succeeded. “She married him to reform him." “Did she succeed?” “Sure! He used to be a spendthrift and now he has nothing to spend.”— Houston Post. o $1.25 to Toledo and return via Clover Leaf Route every Sunday, ts Have you seen them? 15 pictures for $1.50 at Kern’s Art Studio. 114-31.

CARL O. FRANCE. li4-st. City Clerk. More New* from the New England States. If any one has any doubt as to the virtue of Foley’s Kidney Cure, they need only to refer to Mr. Alvin H. Stimpson, of W’illimantic, Conn., who, after almost losing hope of recovery, on account of the failure of so many remedies, finally tried Foley's Kidney Cure, which he says was “just the thing" for him, as four bottles cured him completely. He is now entirely well and free from all the suffering incident to acute kidney trouble. THE HOLTHOUSE DRUG CO. o Take your horse to the Fasnlon stables and have him clipped for $1.50.
