Mr. and Mrs. Howard Harper and family and Mrs. Tip Harper and children have returned from Clarksville, Tenn., where they accompanied the remains of the former’s baby daughter Jane for burial.

Hanning and Mrs. Arthur Rice of Carter township; Mrs. Paul Hasenmeyer of Hammond; Mrs. Noah Benders of Jackson; Irma and Erna Held of Huff; Marie Daunhauer of Harrison; Mrs, John Foertsch and Mrs. John Schroeder of Clay; and Ralph White of Grass, attended the 13th Social and Educational conference in the Claypool Hotel, in Indianapolis, Feb. 16-17. These S. & E. directors report it to be the best conference ever held.
The Three Arts Club enjoyed their regular monthly meeting at the home of Mrs. Harold Martin Monday evening.

Staff Sgt. Floyd Brown of Camp Funston, Kansas and Pfc. Clarence Brown of Fort Benning, Ga. were called home the first of this week, because of the illness of their mother Mrs. William Brown, who underwent a minor operation at the Stork hospital in Huntingburg Monday and because of the serious condition of their sister, Mrs. Gertrude Emerson of Auburn, Ind., to which place they went Wednesday morning.

Mrs. Wallace Wellmeyer received word recently that her husband is improved. He has been in the hospital with pneumonia. Pfc. Wellmeyer is stationed at Fort Sam, Houston, Texas.

Mrs. George Linhardt is spending the week with her daughter, Mrs. Henry Rust and husband in Indianapolis.
