Many of us have been using too much sugar. To save sugar try serving more milk, fruit, vegetables and eggs, and less pie, cake and other rich desserts.
Ginger Muffins
2 c. flour. 4 tsp. baking powder. 1/4 tsp. soda. 1/2 tsp. ginger. 1/2 tsp. salt. 1 beaten egg. 1/2 c. molasses. 1/2 c. milk. 4 tbsp. melted butter. 2/3 c. grated cheese. Sift dry ingredients. Add egg, molasses and milk. Add melted butter and grated cheese. Bake 15 minutes at 400 degrees fahrenheit in muffin pans. Makes 16 muffins.

Canned fruit juices can be used in making a sauce for bread or rice pudding. Gelatine desserts may be made with fruit juices used as the sweetening. Use one tablespoon of gelatine to 1 1/2 cups of fruit juice. Sugarless Ice Bax Cookies 3/4 c. cooking molasses.

Mr. and Mrs. Walter Wilkey gave a farewell party and turtle fry on Friday night for Richard Painter, who left for the army on Saturday morning. A grand time was had by all that were present.
Angel Icebox Cake Broadcast May 14
Mr. and Mrs. Lonnie McDaniel and family, who have been living at Auburn, Ind., have returned to this part of the country to live.
16 soft marshmallows (1/4 lb.) 1 cup cold Pet Milk I package lemonflavored gelatin
1 cup boiling water 12 two-inch vanilla wafers (2 ozs.)
Cut marshmallows into small pieces with scissors that have been dipped in water. Put into bowl with cold milk. Let stand in refrigerator about 1 hour, or until chilled thoroughly. Stir occasionally during the chilling. Meanwhile, dissolve gelatin in boiling water. Chill until gelatin begins to thicken. Rub with vegetable oil a mold holding about 4 cups. Line sides of mold with vanilla wafers. Whip chilled milk mixture with rotary egg beater, or electric beater at high speed, until light and fluffy. Fold into chilled gelatin, four into prepared mold. Chill until firm. Turn out and garnish the top, if desired, with additional halved marshmallows, cut to resemble flowers. Serves 6.
