LESTER POTTER MARRIED THURSDAY AT JASPER

A FIGHTING MAN AND HIS MEN

MARGARET LUBBEHUSEN DIES IN HOSPITAL TUESDAY

Lester Potter, only child of Mr. and Mrs. Elvis Potter, was united in marriage to Miss Dolores Fromme, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Fromme of Jasper at the St. Joseph’s Rectory in Jasper at 4 p. m. Thursday afternoon. The attendants at the wedding were Frank Fromme Jr., brother of the bride and his friend Miss Shirley Spoonmoor and Mr. and Mrs. Howard Huls, Mrs. Huls being a sister of the bride. After the wedding ceremony, a wedding supper was served at the home of the brides’ parents to the immediate families and a few close friends.

Miss Margaret Lubbehusen, 26, daughter of Mr, and Mrs. Martin S. Lubbehusen, died Tuesday evening at St. Mary’s Hospital in Evansville, after a lingering illness. She had been taken to the hospital the previous Friday for observation.

She is survived by her parents; two sisters, Mary, an army nurse at Ft. Benjamin Harrison and Mrs. Francis Kerr at home; one brother Robert, of Corpus Christi, Texas.

Funeral services will be held

at 9 o’clock Saturday morning in St. Joseph’s Church, with burial in the church cemetery.

Lester is a graduate of the Dale High School and is employed at the Kraft Cheese Corporation. They will make their home here in Dale.

DALE LITERARY CLUB MEETS AT BRISTOW

We extend to them our hearty congratulations and wish for them a happy and prosperous wedded life.

The Dale Literary Club delightfully entertained at the home of Mrs. Evelyn Witte of Bristow on Tuesday April 28. Eleven members answered to the roll call.

Rev. and Mrs. Barthol Rogers had a distinguished caller at the Methodist parsonage this afternoon (Friday), when Bishop Wm. C. Martin, Methodist Bishop of the Omaha Area paid them a visit. Bishop Martin had been to New York and was enroute home, but being a historian and one who loved the life of Abraham Lincoln stopped to visit in the Lincoln country. He visited Lincoln City and received much information about Lincoln's life.

Mr. and M|rs. Hilbert Tevault and son are moving here from Grandview and will occupy the newly made apartment at the A. J. Brown residence. Mr. Tevault will teach in the Dale High School this coming year. Dale welcomes this fine family to their community and glad to have Mr. Tevault on the Dale High School faculty.

Miss Marian Sanders of Roswell, New Mexico, will arrive here Sunday and on Monday with Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Wedeking and daughter Miss Miriam, will attend the Fuhrer and Carter wedding at Mt. Vernon. Misses Sanders, Wedeking and Fuhrer were sorority sisters and room mates at Indiana University.

Registration clerks throughout the county were kept busy practically all day Monday filling out registration cards for Spencer county men in the 44-65 year age group. The total number of registrants was only 15 less than the number registered on October 16, 1940 when men from 21 to 35 years registered. In the October registration the total was 1,756 and Monday 1,741 registered.

M. Willison; superintendent of Home department, Mrs. Fred Suhrheinrich.

Delicious refreshments were served by the hostess after the program.

Monday, 4, is the last day for paying 1941 taxes without added penalty. After that date all unpaid taxes become delinquent.

Richard Rose of the U. S. Navy, spent several days the past week with his parents Mr. and Mrs. Paul Roose and family. Richard has been in the Navy thirteen, years and is stationed on the West Coast.

Mildred, 10 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Adam Nord had her tonsils removed Tuesday at the Stork hospital in Huntingburg.

Everyone is invited to attend the social at St. Joseph's School Sunday afternoon and night. A chicken supper will be served— also all kinds of sandwiches and soft drinks.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hoops and daughter Joyce of Evansville

Mr. and Mrs. Johnny who formerly lived with the latter's parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. Bumm, have moved to Jasper, where they purchased a new home.

Gay Weller, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Weller was taken to an Evansville hospital Tuesday where she was operated upon for appendicitis.

here Sunday. Mrs. Hoops left here Sunday evening for Connersville for a visit with her father Marion L. Medcalf, who is improving from a recent illness.

It is quite interesting to notice the number of our young men who are in service and their pictures as they appear from day to day in the Evansville Courier.
