NOTICE TO RURAL BOXHOLDERS

Beginning this morning, Friday, August 1, 1941, the rural letter carriers from the Dale post office will leave the office at 8:15 a. m., instead of 9:30 a. m.

Dorothy Heichelbech, clerk at Allen’s Store, is anxious to see her many friends at the St. Joseph’s Church Picnic Sunday, August 3rd.

Mrs. Lula McCoy and Mr. and Mrs. Orville McCoy have been here from their home in Florida for a visit with the former’s parents Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Beardsley and son Wilbur.

Mr. and Mrs. Gene Hoops of Clay City were here the first of the week looking for a house. They intend to locate here this fall.

Miss Miriam Wedeking spent the first of the week in Indianapolis.

The brother of Doc Truelove, with his family, from Linton, Ind. are moving into the Pennington property in Stringtown. Mr. Truelove will work at the Mariah Hill Coal Co.

D. W. Medcalf and Ralph Wood have returned from Trousdale, Kans. where they have been employed the past few months.

Gleen Dougans have moved to the McCallister home in Stringtown this week. Mr. and Mrs. Willard Roell will move to the Wedeking property recently vacated by the Dougans.

An accident occured in front of Harris’ Barber Shop Thursday morning. The pickup truck of the C. W. Wedeking and Co. was parked outside the shop. Francis Blume of Huntingburg was coming from the north and his car skidded on the wet pavement, plunging into the Wedeking truck. The truck was badly damaged.

Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Elliott and family are spending several days with relatives in Vincennes.

The marriage of Miss Francis Lubbehusen, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. S. Lubbehusen to Charles Kerr, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Kerr of Gentryville is taking place this Saturday morning at St. Joseph's church.

Miss Irene Schaaf accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Fahr to Shoals Monday where they met the laser’s daughter Alice, who is here for a week’s visit.

Mrs. Margaret Rudicil, who has been visiting relatives here for several weeks, returned to her home in Cincinnati, Ohio this week. She was accompanied there by Mrs. Della Eberhardt and Mrs. Iona Carithers, who will visit Miss Mildred Eberhardt.

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Schwinn and family and Miss Joan Walter of Chicago, Ill. are to arrive for a week’s visit with their relatives.

Mr. and Mrs. Chas. P. Fuller and children were recent visitors with their grandparents Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Wedeking and P. W. Fuller.

Mrs. Andy Schum Jr. and Mrs. Benno Schum spent Monday in Louisville, Ky. visiting relatives and friends.
