STETTER-SCHUM
Mrs. Dora Stetter and Frank Schum, both of Dale, were united in marriage in St. Mary’s Chapel at Ferdinand, Thursday morning, June 12, at 5:30 a. m. Rev. Celestine Sanders, pastor of St. Joseph’s Church here in Dale officiated.
The couple were attended by the sister and brother-in-law of the bride, Mr. and Mrs. Tretter of St. Meinrad. James Schum and Eugene Herr, nephews of the groom acted as servers at the marriage service. We extend our congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Schum.
Misses Helen and Violet Hemmer were hostesses for a miscellaneous shower at their home north of town Wednesday evening given in honor of Miss Anna, Grace Springstun, whose marriage to Earl Reinhart will take place Sunday, June 29. The home was beautifully decorated and the charming hostesses entertained nicely for the honor guest. Miss Springstun was the recipient of many beautiful gifts. Home made ice cream, with cake was served the guests who were as follows: Mesdames W. A. Skelton, Carl Taylor, Roy Stone, Wesley Schroer, Thomas Medcalf, Claude Springstun, Herbert Hemmer, Harold Byers, Hurst Livengood, Elmer Reinhart, Bennie Medcalf and Amos Weitkamp; Misses Mabel Wedeking, Melba Winkler, Evelyn Beanblossom, Jeanette Thorpe, Betty June Medcalf, Alma Jean Taylor, June; Medcalf, Viola Springstun, Helen and Violet Hemmer and the honor guest Miss Springstun.

2 cups cake or 2 eggs, separated all-purpose flour 1/4 cup Pet Milk 2 1/2 teaspoons baking diluted with

1/4 cup water
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup soft butter or 1 1/2 cups other shortening ed, sliced peaches, 2/3 cup sugar fresh or canned
Mr. and Mrs. Claude Springstun and family visited relatives in Boonville Sunday.

Turn on oven and set at moderately slow (350° F.). Grease a deep 9~inch cake pan. Sift flour before measurings Resift with baking powder and salt. Cream together thoroughly the butter, 2/3 cup sugar and vanilla. Beat in vigorously unbeaten egg yolks, one at a time. Add flour mixture alternately with diluted milk. Begin and end with flour mixture. Beat until smooth after each addition. Spread batter in greased pans Beat egg whites until stiff but not dry. Continue beating while adding gradually 1/2 cup sugar. Spread over batter in pan, heaping around the edge. Bake about 45 minutes, or until a wire cake tester or toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cook Just before serving, arrange peaches in circle on top of meringue. Serves 6.
Mrs. Nellie Bruce who has been teaching in Evansville, was here Friday. She was leaving that evening for New York where she will enter school for the summer months.

Eddie Brown of Bloomington spent Monday with Miss Margaret Jane Pennington.
Miss Vemla Schaaf of Indianapolis is here to spend her vacation with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Schaaf. Miss Irene Schaaf, who is also a teacher in Indianapolis schools, will arrive home in a, few days, having enjoyed a motor trip to Camp Shelby, Miss., before returning here.
