Mrs. Irene Rader and son of Nashville spent the week end with her father, J. W. Schierbaum and other relatives-

Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Parker of Evansville were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ellis Staten.

Mr. and Mrs. Hanley Schnuck were in Evansville Friday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Eddy Neville of Chicago returned with them to spend Saturday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Schnuck.

Decoration Day services were held at the Church conducted by Rev. Wallace Schriefer of Illionois.

Mrs. Anna Huffemeier of Rockport spent the week end with Mr. and Mrs. Andy Wetzel and family.

Mrs. Frank Eberhardt and Dan Wetzel motored to Camp Shelby, Miss, for a visit with Frank Eberhardt in camp at that place.

T. Varner Decoration Day.

Willard Schaaf arrived here Thursday evening from Los Angeles, California for a visit with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Schaaf and sister, Mrs. Leland Hildebrant and husband.

In Spencer county the road to be treated will be 11.4 miles on Road 45 between Road 66 and Road 62.

Mr. and Mrs. Howard Eskew and son of Boonville, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Stateler and daughter of Millersburg, Junior Johnson and Billy Pierce of Chrisney visited Mr. and Mrs. Claude Springstun and family Sunday.

Leroy Rue of Huntingburg visited with Mr. and Mrs. Robert Rue and son Arleigh Saturday.

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bussmann of Cincinnati, Ohio, announce the birth of twins, a son and daughter, born Saturday, May 24th. Mrs. Bussmann was before her marriage Miss Leona Bumm of here. Congratulations.

Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe Porter Mr. and Mrs. Henry Boehman and baby of Evansville visited Charlie and Effie Porter Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Arch Rhodes of Boonville were recent visitors of Miss Nell Clark and Mr. and Mrs. Ernie Stine.

Clarence H. Koenig was accepted in the U. S. Army Wednesday at Evansville for the ordinance department in

Mrs. Dora Griffith returned Sunday from a visit with relatives at Spurgeon.

Miss Mabel, Edwin and Hobart Wedeking attended the Dauby—Kleaving wedding dinner at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chauncy Dauby, Thursday noon near Tell City.

Dr. A. H. Held, who was called to actine duty in the navy the first of the year, has been promoted to the rank of lieutenant—commander and has been assigned to sea duty.

Mr. and Mrs. Carl Taylor and family have returned from a visit with relatives in Missouri, Arkansas and Tennessee.

A meeting of the Federation of Women’s Club will be held at the South Central School, about three miles south west of Rockport, on Thursday, June 12, beginning at 10 o’clock. Reservations for this meeting must be in not later than June 9. Send reservations to Mrs. Erwin, Rockport, Ind.

Fay Witte, who has been attending State Normal at Terre Haute, is spending her vacation here with home folks, Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Witte.

Elmer Nord and Billy Wedeking were visitors in Evansville last Satnrday.

Elmer Reinhart has been going to Owensboro, Ky. and bringing back tomato plants for our Acme growers.

Cloyce Springston spent a few days this week in Mansfield, Ohio.
