There was quite a wind storm in through here last Tuesday which blew down fruit trees and fencing, and down about Wesley it took trees out by the roots in the pastures and there was a big rain.

Since the company has been putting in more 'phones and working on the line the neighbors in through here can talk to most anyone they wantto. They don't have, to go to central. When the rain came up last Tuesday one of the bosses said that the rain caught them before they were ready, lie said they had .'!2 wires down and loose from tiie switchboard. They had to work until after dark and then didn't get them all up-

A traveling salesman who for the past year lias been making regular trips hero every seven weeks, was beard last Tuesday to remark that of all the towns that 1 visit, this one has the fewest, loafers, the least slang1, vulgarity and profanity on her streets of any in my travels. Moral:--A line graded school and three good churches predominate here instead of gin mills and gambling dens.

I". F. Dye had the misfortune on Sunday night to have both his horses killed by the fast train going west. The horses had been left in the barn at night and how they got out is a mystery.
The strawberry and ice cream festival given by the Mite society of the Christian church at the hall on Saturday evening was largely attended, and a very enjoyable time was had and a handsome sum was netted for the benelit of the society.
