which the teachers are held by their pupils. Sunday evening last Elder Postill had arranged to close his protracted meeting at Eiuidalo and had announced that at 7 o'clock on that evening he would be there for that purpose. Clara Donavan and Albert Rusk concluded to got married on the same evening and wanted the services of Eider PoBtill, and he being of an obliging disposition wanted to accom rnodate all and arranged to perform the marriage ceremony at half past five and that would have given him penty of time to have accommodated both. Punctually on time he arrived at the residence of J. II Donavan, the bride's father, one and a half miles south of town. The guests were present and all was as merry as a marriaee bell for a time, but time slips by and no bridegroom came. As time passed on all bec-ame impatient and some alarmed. The preanher acted as if be were walking on nettles. Instead of being.a happy marriBge feast it appeared to be a place of gloom. Finallv about 7 o'clock the bridegroom came rushing in all bespattered with mud and lookinsr more like a 6tock buver )han a candidate for matrimony He had forgotten the license and never thought of it until within one half mile of the bride's residence, and then returned home, west of Waynetown, for it, and returning with it safe in his prasp he hurried on and the marriage wa« performed in the usual happy manner of Mr Postill It was now too late to go to church and that part was abandoned. At Elmdale, the preacher who was usually so prompt, failing to come, alarm spread over the large congregation and tbey held a social meeting and closing the services, immediately telephoned to this place tn inquire about the lost preacher Will Kerr thought he had gone to his appointment and telephoned them to that effect. He then started ou'. to hunt him and met him returning from the wedding. Explanations followed and it is now thought that he will be allowed to fill out his time on *he cir cuit and still preach at the Elmdale church.
