A wedding soon. Hog cholera i6 raging here. Another thief has boen in town. Lon Vanarsdall has the malarial fever.
The wheat crop will be a failure in this vicinity. An enormous corn crop is being put in this spring.
Elva Linn is staying at Chas. Armstrong's this week. Lillie Burkholder, of Bellmore, is visiting friends here.
The contractor will begin work on the new of P. hail in about three weeks
The M. E. church people will give an ice cream supper Saturday evening two weeks
Mrs. Jennie Finch and Jim Bratton's daughters, of Lebanon, are visiting here this week
Fred Caster, our old soldier boy, will take the examination scon for civil engineering.
The proceeds of the band boys' 6up per Saturday evening were 842, the net proceeds being $32.
The saw mill has shut down, waiting for some trees to grow a little larger before cutting them.
Plenty of beer and cheap Bkate whis ky Saturday evening, also a few boozes, and one fellow got bit by a spider as well as ice cream.
The Mace K. of P. band is progressing nicely and will make a success if they all keep their place and don't jump off the track.
Decoration day services Were well attended here. There were speeches by the young folks and the graves were Btrewn with flowers and flags
The graduating exercises here were well attended Saturday evening and all spoke their pieces well. Good order prevailed and Doyle & Co. furnished excellent music.
NUMBER THIRTEEN.
Lewis Bannon drove to Otterbein Saturday afternoon. Trustee Morrow and Supervisor Haas were through here last week looking at our road6 and bridges.
Sheep shearing has been lengthened out this year on account of the cold weather and a scarcity ot shearers.
The man in this community who has not some acres planted in either tomatoes or sweet corn is entirely out of the ring
The township board, consisting cf Trustee Morrow, John Foley, Right Alexander and Wesley Dazey"recently had a harmonious meeting. They are a unit in opinion in regard to highway improvement.
Elijah Watts, the New Richmond veteran sheep Bbearer, has sheared 1.275 head up to date. He has been very much crowded. When this generation shall have passed away sheep shearing apparently will be a lost art. The kids don't take hold well.
A Mr. and Mrs. Graham, elderly people of Darlington, rented Charley Ocheltree's place and moved here in the early spring. Mrs. Graham died Sunday evening after a short illness. A short service was held at the house Tuesday morning by Rev. Powell and the body was taken to Darlington.
The usual Decoration service was held at the M. E. church at Wingate. A very excellent programme was rendered, witnessed by an immense audience. The speeches were grand, inspiring and patriotic The entire meeting was a grand success. As usual Comrade Bottenburg was leader. The reputation of these meetings has become so great that nothing less than a tent that will accommodate 3,000 people will be sufficient next year. •TISN'T safe to be day without Dr. Thomas' Electric Oil in the house. Never can tell what moment an accident is going to happen.

Tbe public meeting of the Ladies' Miesionary Society of Bethel church Sunday morning proved quita interesting. A good crowd was present.
Ethel Beck, daughter of Fannie Beck, was badly burned Monday. A bucket of boiling water was accidentlaly spilled upon her,burning her back, shoulder and arm.
There will be an ice cream Bupper at this place on Friday evening, June 9th. The proceeds will be used for the improvement of the Shannondale cemetery. Cream and cake will be served in the afternoon to those who are not able to be present in the evening. A good social time is promised. All are invited.
NEW RICHMOND.
Walt Wilson is confined to the houBe with dropsy. Baz Williams is verry low with spinal meningitis.
Marshall Work will begin working the streets in a few days. Al Auton made a suit of clothes for J. C. Bennett the first of the week.
J. C. Bennett is painting the residence of Gam Hormell, near Wingate. Thomas Wallace, north of town, is reported very low with asthma and dropsy.
Esquire Ebrite is building a new house for Willie Snyder just south of his residence.
Carrington Charters and family, of kound Hill visited W. P. Coffman and family last Sunday.
Boswell Clough and Elver Plunkett accompanied by their wives spent Tuesday on the Wea.
J. W. McCardle, our grain buyer, says he don't expect to ship on6 car load of wheat this year.
Delbert Peirce, of Round Hill, will soon begin the erection of a house in the east end for Wm. Zook.
A. D. Snyder decorated his wagon Tuesday atd delivered three riding cultivators to farmers west of town.
The men employed at the tile factory have received and increase of twenty-five cents per day on their wages, and they deserve it.
Marion omith and wife leave tomorrow morning for Kansas City to spend two weeks with their son, Wm. Smith. Little Bennie will go with them.
Mrs. J. A. King was taken very ill with congestion of the stomach Monday night and for awhile her life was despaired of. She is slightly better at this writing.
There wUl be a balloon ascension and parachute leap, baBe ball game and band music all day here June 24th. Don't forget the date, but come as you will be well entertained all day.
Decoration day exercises at Wingate were well attended from here. Everyone speaks in the highest praise of the entertainment from start to finish. Our band boys acquitted themselves nobly, it being their first call. Their new uniforms are simply immense.

Quite a crowd attended the Roachdale horse show. ThoB. McGinnis has bought an interest in the Epperson heading mill.
Jesse Snyder has accepted a position at Brazil aB agent for the Midland. Decoration tday services were held Sunday and were unusually well attended
Miss Bessie Bastion spent a few days with Miss Mabel Bowers at Parkersburg thiB week.
James Taylor and son carried off most of the premiums at the Roachdale horse show.
Miss E6Bie Clements has returned home after a few days' visit with her cousin, MisB Edna Anderson.
Prof. Burroughs, of Wabash college, delivered the commencement address. He has spoken here several timeB and has won the highest regard from all.
