Ellis Creua threshed corn for Lon King last week. Lon King has been husking corn for Charley Patton, jr.
Van Kennedy has been huskiDg corn for Chae. Patton, sr. C. O. Hill and wife, of Bjnne county, visited relatives here last week.
Wm. Messmore, of near Mellott, spent a few days of last week at .T. B. Cowan's.
There was no school at Quick's Monday on account of the death of a relative of the teacher.
Miss Gertie Miller, who lias been working at Mr. Haywood's, has been at home for a few days.
A series of meeting conducted by E.ev. Brown was commenced at Liberty Tuesday night and will continue for a week or so.
The box supper at Round Hill Friday night was well attended, S'? beins: cleared for the library. The cake was awarded to Miss Katie Murdock as being the prettiest srirl present, and a poke of peanuts to Frank Nolan as being the ugliest boy.

Eph O-cle, who was brought up in Fountain county and went west in 1S56 and now lives at Big Bend, Wash., has concluded a visit with his cousin, James Ogle. He still has a warm spot near his heart for Hoosierdom.
The Wingate dremaiic club in about two weeks will produce an uproarious comedy called "Uncle Josh." The play will be interesting and it is hoped will be well patronized, as the proceeds are for the benefit of charity.
The Ladies' Mita Society of the Christian church will give a literary and musical social at the home of Mrs. Amanda Clark, Friday evening, Dec. 9, at 7 o'clock, Admission including refreshments, 10 cents. All invited.
Sunday being the third anniversary nf the marriage of Frank Royalty and wife and the forty-second anniversary of Mrs. R's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Palin, the occasion was duly celebrated by a family dinner and re union at Frank Royalty's.

Drs. Olin and Allhans called Monday to see Dr. Hurt, of Waynetown. He is poorly with kidney trouble.
Most of the farmers have their standing corn in the crib, but there is a great deal of shock corn in the field yet, and if it still continues this way, it is likely to 6tay there awhile.
