There will be a scramble for the Democratic nomination for prosecuting attorney. Among those after the honors are Harry Fine, Will Paul, Clyde Jones, Frank Hurley and Harrister Katehelor, of Ladoga.

Detective Norton, of Cleveland, (., has written Sheriff Canine that he knows the men who gold bricked Wilson Hunt and Sam Petro and can make them disgorge if employed to do so. He is evidently a fakir looking for a job.
Have Failed.
Cuppy & Son, of Waveland, who have been operating a general store there, have failed, and have named W. T. Whittington as assignee. Their liabilities are about $5,000 and their assets do not measure up to this by quite a little.

The law and real estate otlice of W. P. Britton reports a trade of real estate between Amizon Ward and I'. S. Ward. The latter conveys his ninetyeight acre farm on the Danville road south of the city to the former at a valuation of §5,000 and takes in part pay a house and lot on Jefferson street valued at S3,000.

The wedding of Mr. Howard Gillis and Miss Georgie Vanarsdall was solemnized at Young's Chapel Sunday evening at 7:30 o'clock, Rev. Broom fiald, of Darlington, officiating. The bride was attired in a most becoming white organdie. The contracting parties entered the church to the music of the Mendelssohn march, which was rendered by Miss Bessie Birch, of Crawfordsville. The bride was led up the right aisle by Miss Willie Hazleton, of Ladoga, the groom coming up the left aisle with Mr Ernest McAdarns, of Chicago. Accompanying the bride aud groom were Miss Susie Adams, of Crawfordsville, Miss Fannie Vanarsdall, sister of the bride, and Messrs. Will Fell and Otis^Williams, of Crawfordsville. The bride's maids wore white organdie. Between 6ix and seven hundred persons witnessed the ceremony. Refreshments were served to fifty invited guests at the home of the bride's father, Mr. James Vanarsdal. All unite in extending congratulations and best wishes to the happy young couple.

John Byrd has a driving horse for sale or trade. Henry Chad wick will move to Crawfordsville soon.
Miss Ada Bircham.of Rolling Prairie, 's visiting here. Henry Chadwick is baying horses for C. O. McFarland.
Miss Nora Smith, of Kokomo, is vis' iting relatives here. Sherman Trout bought 300 bushels of corn of Harve Bratton.
Mr. and Mrs. Ei Line took dinner at Harve Bratton's Sunday. Shiloh church has a new organ. The old one is for sale cheap.
Charlie Warren sold his hogs to Edwards & Linn this week. There is a protracted meeting in progress here this week, conducted by Rev. Mater.
Downs & Fruits havd postponed their sale until Feb. 3, on account of bad weather.
Will Gray will move on the McCormick farm and Aaron Hood will move on Will Gray's place.
GARFIELD.
Ashley Cox spent Sunday with Pearl Cox. Miss Josa McCoy spent Sunday with Minnie Binford.
S. P. Vangundy and wife dined at Mr. Hoagland's Sunday. The Garfield telephone company will run a line to Smartsburg soon.
The Garfield school visited Greenwood school Friday afternoon. Ed Conrad and wife, of Darlington spent Sunday at Frank Conrad's.
Several attended the Gillis-Vanars-dall wedding at Young's Chapel Sunday night.
Rev. Moody's meetings closed at Center church Sunday night with twenty-three additions.
Rev. Joe Francis, assisted by Rev. Moody, will begin protracted meetings at Walnut Chapel Sunday.
There wa6 not a very large crowd at the spelling school last Wednesday night on account of the bad weather.
Bert Largent and cousin, Miss Murphy, of Lafayette, spent part of the week with their cousins, Frank Conrad and wife.
Tnere will be meetings here Saturday night and Sunday morning and. night, Jan. 29 and 30, instead of on the' first Sunday, as Itev. Moody will be engaged in other work at that time.

Harry Morris butchered hog6 Monday. Bert Remley is the proud father of a baby girl.
The prospect for a wheat crop is very good. Protracted meeting has begun at nion Hill.
The Klondyke shop has closed until further orders. Uncle Will Ward sold a tine bunch of hogs Monday.
Chick McClure talks of going to Warren county. Miss Ollie Hugelheim spent Sunday with home folks.
Myres Bros, are talking of rebuilding their elevator. Our huckster wagons have quit running until spring
Harry Linn will work for George Wicks this summer. Rev Ryley has beguu his two weeks meeting at Mt. Tabor.
Chas. Sanford will finish painting at S. A. Trout's this week. Bill Morris is running a huckster wagon for Harry Lainon.
Miss Myrtle Clark returned to her home in Ladoga Thursday. John Chadwick will have a sale Monday and quit farming.
The music social at T. Phelps Saturday evening was a success Hunt and Kennedy have returned home from Warren county.
Dave Edwards is hauling wood from the Wilson farm thi6 week. There will be a great amount of moving done here March 1st.
Miss Ethel Edwards is visiting friends near Linden this week. Bdwards Linn shipped a car load of hogs to Indianapolis Monday.
John Morris is hauling corn to Myres Bros, at 23 cents per bushel. Several of our old chronics are kicking on the new dog tax law. You can just kick.
Miss Lou Armstrong is at the bedside of her sicn father, Mr. Foreman this week.
Vncle John Conner is very low at this writing with a severe attact of erysipelas.
John Long, of near New Richmond, was laid to rest in the old cemetery here Wednesday.

Everybody is selling out their farm implements and moving to town, and will live a retired life we suppose.
The party at Frank Armstrong's Monday evening was largely attended. Everybody present had a good time.
Willie Dice and Minnie Armstrong were quietly married Sunday morning in Crawfordsville by Rev. Williamson. After the ceremony they drove to Wm. Dice's, where a splendid dinner and friends greeted them. Monday they went to their future home in Chicago.

Eli Burk spent Sunday evening with J. S. Williams. Jesse Ward contemplates joining the Masons soon.
Edwards & Linn shipped a car load of hogs Monday. W. B. Dice and family spent Sunday with W. W. Johnson.
C. M. Bratton and family spent Sunday at W. W. Ward's. J. S. Williams traded horses with Frank Shuey last week.
Remember the sale of J. F. Chadwick on Monday, the 31st. J. S. Williams sold 300 bushels of wheat at 88 cents per bushel.
A series of meetings will begin at Walnut chapel Sunday night. 3 The party at Frank Armstrong's on Monday night was a success.
Napoleon Stonebraker visited Joe Sweeney the first of the week. Remember the quarterly meeting at New Ross Saturday and Sunday.
Protracted meetings are in progress at Union Hill, Shiloh and Mt. Tabor. Homer Linn has traded old Duck for a fine driving horse called Poleanges Nancy Hanks. Get up, sir.
W. W. Ward and J. F. Dice delivered their hogs to Edwards & Linn last Monday for 83.50 per hundred.
John Sellers and Hattie Pattison are going to take the examination for teachers' license in the spring.
Willie Dice and Winnie Armstrong were quietly married by Rev. Williamson, of Crawfordsville, last Sunday. They left Monday for Chicago, their future home.
