The programme for
the mammoth display of fireworks which will take place on the river during the encampment has just been announced. The display will be in charge of the Pain Company, and will be on a scale never before attempted. It will probably occur on the evening Of September 13, and7 will .be in midriv^r.. DARIJING-TOW, Aug.' 2]':—The sixtyfifth annual session of the Western 'In1, disina Christian1 Conference is now in Session at this plaCe Solon Atkinson in ^he' chair. Rev. JEt.' H. Gbtt, of Mellotti a sdripture lesson and Rev. J. S. Maxwell,, of Crawfordsville. gave the invocation. A quorum not being present, Rev. F. Stovempur, of Portland, gave an address. He is a fluent and forcible speaker and those of our people failing to hear him are missing a i-are treat. The remainder of the session was given to the assigning of homes and in exchanging greeting by tL? ministers and delegates. A number of visiting ministers from other conferences are present. All seem happy and it is expected that this will be the most profitable session in the history of the conference. Rev. C. A. Brown, of Merom, was appointed to conduct social service this morning. ..

Mrs. T. H.' Ristine1 and son Frank and Miss Agnes Smith, of this city, had a thrilling experience Tuesday night. They left here Tuesday afternoon for Petoskey, Mich., and that night about 0 o'clock their train Was held up by robbers near the .Kalamazoo river. She was born in Virginia in 1S37" and married Samuel Overstreet in 1859. They moved to Indiana in 1S05. Seven children were born to them, and they were all at the funeral Tuesday. The funeral' was preached at the home by Rev. -Wopd of the M. E. church, of which she was a member. Mrs. Overstreet was well known in and around Ladoga and will be greatly missed. P"' -H'-1'
