S. H. Gregg has received letters patent on a fence post, a fence strand and a stay for wire fences. The posts are a metallic bar, made box shape with one side open, and bars upon which tho wire is attaohed and tightened. About 20 inches from this post is a record post braced to the first which takes the place of the long piece of timber usually used. The wire is crimped and adapted to contraction and expansion. The stay is a contrivance to strengthen and support the wires so the posts can be placed from GO to 100 feet apart and at tile same time give flexibility to the fence. As it does away with the barbarous barbs the fence doubtless will be popular and have a large sale.
Fiuined Glover Seed,

Thi« morning the seed were soaked with water and the floor oovered with pools of water. The loss will amount, so Mr. Crabbs says, to between §400 and §500. A. S. Miller says the loss is with the Water Company for fai'ing to act when properly notified.
