Tim man undoubtedly hud clothing when he was Kent to the inbtitutiou, or if he liad not the county of Montgomery would liavn furnished it on application. This Incident speaks volumes for the management of the Insane Asylum, and the tender care exorcised br those in charge, and the economic administration of affairs at that institution. These tjnder hetrted authorities supposed probably that poor Bill O'Mara was "only a pauper whom nobody owned," and any way to get his body off of their hands would answer. Montgomei county takes canr of her citlxens and on the arrival here of the remains th*y were examined and interred an humanity dicatad. This dumping of the unfortunate doad, who linvu to be cared for at public expense is on par with the churges mode by the committee and orovcii. Out with such places and place till? care of the insane of the State in the hand* of thorn* whose sense of justice and instincts of humanity have not become paralyzed. Such things as these demand an investigation, and while then? is no law to punish those who commit the act, there is a way to rid the State of their sei vices. "Turn the rascals out."

Tli.! soliciting committee ot the Citizens' meeting held In this city a few evenings since has mot with greater success than was anticipated. They now have in the neighborhood of $ii,000 subscribed and have other parties in view who have eiprrsj-od thoinselvea as desirous of taking stock in such nn enterprise. The idea takes well not only among the citizens of the city, but many of the. country people are becoming Interested and Aubscribing for a goodly number ot shares. The idea is preral«nt that gas can be tound if wells iue sunk in tho proper places, and are uwakxned to the fact that gas if it is to be found should bu in use as soon as possible. Crawfordsville property owners should be more deeply Interested than any other persons, and frtm tho ay in which they are taking hold of this enterprise they are sufficiently interested to expend some money in making a thorough test to discover whether gas may bo found or not in this locality. There will be a meeting of those Interested in the work on the return of the gentlemen who are now visiting the gas fluids of the State, at which time the soliciting committees will report and the investigators will give the result of their observations.
